I think you will find these people just have random numbers - they may not have 'bought' your number from anyone.
We have 100 numbers here and they ring all the desk phones... quite funny but not productive.
Just quote their script back to them in an Indian accent and before they have a chance to reply, say "hello?" and as soon as they try to answer, say it again. revenge is sweet :)

'accident investigation department'... haha. i told her to lmk when she would like me to have an accident and what sort of accident she would like me to have - i'm guessing she didn't have a scripted response for that so she hung up :) 3rd call this week to direct desk phones... obviously just dialing every number possible.

I just got a call from (08) 9467 4216 and the end line has Indian accent telling me he was from accident investigation department so then I told him that it sounded very doggy and it was a scam then he hung up. It is very scary to know I am a target for scam

Called the work phone and hung up after i said the company name, definitely a scam as when i tried to call back it says the call could not be connected.

Charlatans - called a few times regarding an alleged insurance claim we had. As soon as I asked them to wait a minute, they hung up every time they called.

I receive calls from this number several times a week. Lately I've been pretending to transfer the call to different people and putting on accents of my own and pretending to be lawyers/police/etc and they quickly hang up. When I called the number back it said it wasn't in service.

Phone call today (08) 9467 4216. I did not answer it as it seemed to be coming from Western Australia. I thought it went to MessageBank but I can't find a message there so it is not from anyone I know.

yes a car accident scam from India I have not had a car accident since I was 20 some 60 years ago the only claim was hail damage not an accident

I work for a company owns number **** **01 - **** **99, and they tried to call each of our number everyday during 4pm to 5pm. I had to hang off calls from the same number again and again. How can this type of scam is allowed?

scam - I told them it was a scam and they denied it said they were a legal firm - I asked how come a legal firm was breaking the law by calling me when I was on the do not clal register. Indian accent - scammer - I have not had an accident.

This number called my place of employment in the Gold Coast. The caller a 'Max Turner' said he wanted to speak to the person who was involved in a accident.

He says he is from Accident Claims and the number displayed was (08) 9467 4216. This number is calling all different extensions of our company- we have over 100 extensions. Other caller is named Shaun. All looking for a Michael Currie. Both callers a very vague. Not giving them any attention. Bye Felicia.

I had the same phone call about a hour ago tell me someone had a car accident and there from the accident investigation department and he was Indian guy who phone me said no one had a accident here and he said no name or who he was phone number he used was (08) 9467 4216

Yep a lot of companies use internet calling showing local numbers. Suck 3 calls today all cut off after 3 words...

I had a call today from "Accident Department". The guy with Indian/Asian accent told me that I had an accident, which I did last year. He told me it wasn't my fault and that other party had admitted fault and I would receive compensation. I contacted the other party and was told that they had not admitted fault, they then checked the number and found this site. Thankyou for bringing it to attention. I haven't heard of this scam being advised on media. I think it should be done, because they sound so plausible when you have had an accident.

Just had a phone call from this number. someone claiming to be from some accident investigation mob & saying that someone from my household had had an accident in the last two years & did he have the right number. I told him not only did he NOT have the right number but I didn't fall for bullsh*t like that & told him to go f**k himself!

This is a scam, be careful. This is dishonest and fraudulent. Call it out and tell them this will not be tolerated here.
