Someone with an Indian accent called and said they were from Accident Investigations and they said that someone from our number had been involved in an accident. Terribly upsetting when you cannot contact your son. So over scam calls.

I too have a silent number, so why are they allowed to ring, I look after my grandchildren it's so inconvenient running to phone thinking it's important!!

just got called by (08) 9467 4216 claiming to be 'accident investigations' indian voice and clearly in a call centre. Interestingly I had been involved in a hit an run. Makes me think that maybe police reports are being tampered with as I had not informed our insurance as damage was minimal.

several calls from this number once to my mobile then later to my unlisted landline and minutes after that to my fax number. None of my numbers are listed and I don't give out my landlines. I told the caller that this is a scam. Assured me they work for a law firm in Perth WA, well the law firm is in Adelaide and do not have a branch in WA. The indian said his name was Shaw Miller. This name is not at the law firm either. The girl that then rang said she was from a different company. They assure me it is not a scam. Wankers,...

I have had numerous calls from this number on my home phone which is meant to be silent but the same Asian guy also calls me on my mobile but uses a private number. He goes on about a previous accident. I have had no accident!!! This has been happening to me on and off for the last couple of years. I must be on their call list. I know it's a scam and I keep telling them this not in a nice way. But he keeps calling. I am sick of it. Please someone, get rid of this scum.

I've had several calls concerning a traffic accident I had recently. Usually inform them that it's been over 20 years since my last 'prang'. Last time I told the caller to "Go forth, and multiply" (or words to that effect).

'Max' called from 'accident investigations'. I told him we haven't had any accidents and he said 'ah... i will update our records, thank you very much, have a good day'.

Go online to Do not call register & put in a complaint. They'll charge them.

I get these all the time and I agree with your sentiments. Maybe we should all contact the Federal Minister for Communications to get something done.

SCAM

Have received lots of calls from these scumbags. Unfortunately my husband answered first call and having had an accident 6 months prior thought they were for real. The offer of $5000 helped! He gave them a lot of info. I then found out that they were scammers from Consumer Affairs guy on ABC Radio Thursdays at 10:45 am. Each time they call I tell them what lowlifes they are etc. Now have this phone number in my contact list so I am ready for them when they call. If Consumer Affairs knows all about them why don't they do something. If some pest kept knocking on my door I'm sure that I could have him arrested.

I just had my son message me at work asking if i was ok as he had received a call from these a**holes telling him i was in a car accident. Low life scum they are....
