Thought so! no Jason O'Connor would have an accent like that lol! Plus they used (02) 6152 8660. In any case, you would get written advice from ATO long before any court action or arrest FFS. Laughing now, but it makes you think for a bit first lol!

17/8/2015 His number is now 61528648 I phoned and someone actually answered. I couldn't understand him so I asked to repeat and he hung up. Will not answer my calls.

Hi i just had the same call from a jason O'Connor claiming there is a tax evasion against my name.

This idiot is now using callback number (02) 6152 8641.

we received message from Mr Oconner , he has a new number(02) 6152 8636.

Same mo again you can call scam watch 1300 705 995 report or on line report

Just been contacted by jason oconner now using (02) 6152 8636 rang the number just got heavy breathing

Thank you very much for putting this on the web - Jason threatened me with arrest, frozen accounts, jail, contacting my employer, publishing my name as a criminal in the media, and blacklisting my credit rating, mobile and driver's licence etc. He said if I didn't go to my bank immediately (while staying on the phone with him at all times and not telling anyone about this) and pay a sizeable sum into an account he'd tell me about when I got there, then the police would come and arrest me. Fortunately the ATO confirmed it was a scam when I rang them (and knew his name) and my bank confirmed my accounts weren't frozen and I found this forum with your good advice, so I'm very grateful, thanks again. The number he asked me to call was (02) 6152 8636.

I had a call today on my message bank. Same spiel re the ATO. Jason O'Connor is now using (02) 6140 3445.

I was in bed this morning and a call came. I wanted to sleep in so I let it go to messagebank. It was Jason O'Connor from the ATO but unlike calls about tax evasion this was about my Centrelink pension, saying that I had returned papers unsigned and that now my address was under surveillance, and a warrant for my arrest was imminent. The number he left to call back on was different from this one that you are all saying but when I rang it there was no connection. I don't understand how he got my information, and what the purpose of the scam is?

This guy is working hard .......I just had the dreaded tax evasion call myself and asked to call (03) 6140 3445. Didn't bother. Just tell him that you have a family member high up in Telstra and they are able to track the number and find him.

"What's he trying to get out of it"? He's trying to get your personal details so he can defraud you. I just received the same call. Avoid!

I got a call from this 'Jason O'Connor claiming to be from the ATO.

He asked for me by name. I said the person of that name wasn't at home right now.

He said he should be called back on (02) 6140 3485. I suspected it was a scam because a.) he got openly frustrated when I asked him to repeat the phone number (I couldn't understand him clearly because of his accent), and b.) intuitively it just felt wrong.

I reported this to the ATO's scam watch: ReportEmailFraud @ ato.gov.au

I got a call From (02) 6140 3485 saying he was Jason OConnor from the ATO too !! Same scam........ That was on the 3 of July... I have got a new phone now that will block all scammer from Telstra......

I just got a message from good old Jason from (02) 6140 3485. Sounded dodgy so I googled it and what do ya know.... What a toss pot.

Had the same message from Jason O'Connor. He is now using the phone number (02) 6140 3490 to call back

I had two messages saying the same rubbish. I was afraid the police would arrive any minute, so pleased I thought to Google his name. Obviously a Scam, not sure what he is getting out of doing this

Yup, had two calls on the answering machine today..... (02) 6140 3490 is the number he's using now.

Needless to say, he wont be receiving a callback!
