had the same phone call from a Jason O'Conner and James Anderson, and said the same thing that I was being investigated for tax evasion for the past 2 years, worked out very quickly it was a scam.

Had same thing happen to me. Message left on home messagebank threatening arrest by AFP. When called the number, got a guy called Daniel White who claimed to be Jason O'Connor's supervisor (sounded Indian - these guys give Indians a bad name). When asked about the call,, insisted I give him the number that was called. When pressed about case number call was in reference to, thanked me and hung up.
Advice if you get similar call do not provide details, ask for case number which can always be checked with ATO.

We had a message on our answer machine tonight from Mr. Jason O'Connor as well. Have no doubt its a scam.

I had a very threatening message on my business phone from Jason OÇonnor - thick asian accent, alleging from the ATO and stating there was a lawsuit filed against me and a police officer would be sent to arrest me and take my possessions. I knew it had to be a scam because there was no debt, but it shook me up. I googled scams and this is one. He used the same number (02) 6140 3485.

Got same guy (same name anyway) but used (02) 8310 5583 ... exactly same scam ... they change number but not persons name ??? not very smart.
