These people are total off shore scammers. They even stoop to such low acts by leaving "positive" posts here saying how wonderful they are. Don't fall for their craplish. Lion finance are bottom feeding scum and deserve to be exposed as such. They are just despicable.

These people have rung me 2 or 3 times over the last year or so asking questions about my neighbour, originally pretending to be a friend of his, wanting me to know if he was home. I thought it was strange and didn't tell them much. The next time they called my wife answered the phone and told them to get lost. Today they rang again and the caller gave me his name number and business name, and wanted me to pop a note with those details into my neighbour's letterbox. I refused and googled the number, which brought me here. I will report CLH group to ASIC and/or ACCC. There's no way I'm going to do somebody else's dirty work for free, and risk upsetting my neighbour at the same time ! There's nothing worse than an angry neighbour is there !!

Lion Finance - Some of the rudest people I have ever spoke to on the phone - one of them even went to the extent of calling a female acquaintance of mine at HER WORKPLACE asking to speak to me about a matter... surely that is not allowed.

This mob decided it was appropriate to show up on my parents doorstep (an address I had not lived at for more than 10 years), and spill details of my alleged debt to my parents.
I have no agreement with them to disclose my financial matters to my family, and have not assigned Power of Attorney to any of my family.

My father received a call in reference to a work college, apparently owning money. They gave him personal information that they shouldn't have about the person he works with. To the person claiming to work for them .... no actually you CAN'T contact neighbors & friends as well as work colleague, I know because I used to work in debt recovery ... it's against the law to talk about someone's personal information to anyone else. The fact that they just did that with my father in reference to someone he works with is just wrong.
It's against privacy laws to do what they do with neighbors, co-workers and friends.

If you talk to them like adults then the matter will be dealt with, they can't disclose much information until ID is confirmed as this is to protect your privacy. They have all the rights to your debt once it's with them, so they can collect on it. If you look at legislation, they can contact you quite regularly and still be legal. Just pick up the phone and deal with it, if you can't pay then tell them. They have ways to help you out if you are in a bad position. They will contact 3rd parties if you don't answer calls and it is legal. Just act like an adult people and talk to them, they helped me out heaps.

Please note if you receive a call from this company you can do the following
* note the time and the date of when they contacted you and also get in touch with ACCC via this link
https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/complaints-problems/make-a-consumer-complaint
* Call the local court and get a copy of the judgment https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/nswgovdirectory/local-courts
Only $28 - Check to see how the judgment was served and on what day.
* Get a copy of your credit report for free do not pay http://www.equifax.com.au/personal/products/my-credit-file
* Once received dispute the entry on the report via email , follow up that they have completed this. record notes, record notes very important
* Speak to your local state member of parliament, inform them of what has happened and also keep them in touch be specific ... private numbers any threats ..including them informing relatives and ex-partners...this can be stressful however you have to make sure these companies do not inform ex-partners where you live as this could put you at risk.
* revise AVO details if necessary.
* you can request details from any government agency about who is accessing your personal information. Usually, there is a footprint of when you details have been accessed. eg RMS, Medicare, Tax Office. This is rare however sometimes they find you through some bizarre methods.
* Deactivate all your social media Facebook, Instagram, Linked-in this is where they will call your associates and tell them that there is a reunion or a personal matter that needs to be discussed.

Pretty simple. Pay your way. No ripping people off with unpaid bills, no debt collectors.
No one owes you anything. You owe - You Pay the debt if you have any dignity or self respect.

Pay your debts

Thank you all for an awesome read this morning. Some of these comments had me laughing out loud.

Pay your damn debts. Banks didnt give you free money. Providers never offered you free service.

Stop trying to justify and give bullsh*t stories of what Lion or any collection agency did or done to you. Because they wouldnt be calling you if you didnt owe the money, settled the account or on a payment plan.

If they were such a dodgy company scamming you all.. with all the complaints on here.. why are they still operating. Why havnt they been hit with a million dollar fine from ACCC or FOS.

And then we have the people who say they know their rights and the law.. they are acting illegal. PMSL!!! It is the law and within legislations. Maybe read your contracts.. especially the part where you signed and acknowledged your info maybe fwd or shared with third party companies in regards to finance or recovering debt.. then brush up on property law act.. where debts can be sold or assigned...

Stop lying to all the readers.. and just answer your damn phones and address your debts.. because one day when you need finance.. and your credit file still has them defauts..you going wish you addressed it sooner and be calling them back trying to get it fixed.

Received a SMS requesting me to contact them on their 1800 number .
The female I spoke too was rude as I would not give her my D.O.B and address.
I just stated that if your legitimate then you have these details; but sending a SMS is just plain gutless!!
No phone calls, no nothing except the SMS.
I still don't know what it's about..
Far from impressed with these scammers!!!

I have been paying these people off at %75 of my wage and they still demand more. I was promised a discounted debt due to hardship by Melbourne office team leader/manager Scott and have been constantly abused by his underling Sam. Who for some reason will yell, then sob story about her dead grandmother when abused back or told a blatant 'no'. I have been lied to and abused by this organisation since the beginning. This is neglecting that they assumed my debt and then made absolutely no contact for 4 YEARS and wanted to charge all interest. I am in the process of finalising this debt today however will be requesting all records to seek legal options

I have been harassed by this company (1-800-708-124) , four or 5 times now. I do not know who they are, and I do not have any outstanding debts. They want my date of birth before they will even tell me what it is all about. I have told them to contact me via Australia Post if it is important and that I do not give out my date of birth over the phone. Can anyone tell me who these people are?
