They didn’t know how to pronounce my street name!!
At the last minute I noticed they asked me more information that I already passed to the department of health

THIS IS A COMPLETE SCAM
There are so many comments on this site saying it’s legitimate but it’s a COMPLETE SCAM.
I got a call from this number on a Saturday night saying they were from the Department of Health Victoria. They asked if they were speaking to me (they knew my full name) They then asked if it was a good time to speak and I said no. They then told me it was logged in their system and they would call me tomorrow.
I started researching and came to terms that this was a scam. The text messages I had received were suspicious and I looked online and I haven’t been to any exposure sites, I live in regional Victoria, and am fully vaccinated.
They called me the next morning and everything was very suspicious. I asked her why she was calling and she said it had to to with the quarantine that I’m currently completing and they needed more details. I told her I wasn’t completing any quarantine. She then proceeded to tell me I had been to a tier one exposure site. I asked which one it was and she was taking her time in answering and stumbling over her words. She said last weeks exposure site on a specific date. Then I asked what the site was and she told me XXXX.
I am a patient at the specific chain clinic but I have not been to that specific site EVER. I go to another site of theirs.
I’m not exactly sure how they have got this information… maybe through my previous check ins at their other site.
I told them not to call me again and that on Monday I would be calling DHHS to report this number.
Caller: Tom from Victoria Health
My work was a Tier 1 exposure site. I got a text saying I’d get a call from this number and 1 minute later they called me. They knew the address of my work and gave me correct details. They only asked for an email address and confirmed my 14 day lockdown dates match what my work has been telling me. He was very clearly reading from a script but I have no reason to believe it’s a scam - they didn’t ask for any bank info and it’s the same phone number that has called 4 of my co-workers all saying the same thing.
Caller: Department of Health
They are from the Department of Health, legit . I thought they were scam but they are not, got the officer and army arrived at my home on the same morning asking me to isolate and go get tested . So you can answer the phone
have been receiving test messages, and also phone calls.
person on the other end of pone asked for me, said i was in an exposure site.
when challenged, and asked 'which one, and when;, they said after a pause 'probably in ___'.
they then said theblurb re recording for training., I said 'good. so your colleagues will know how not to sound like a fake caller'.
I hung up...
Caller: Department of health
Not a scam it’s legitimate, I was in a tier 1 site they had all my details and when I checked into the site via QKR code. I did not have to give any details they knew everything.
Caller: Victorian Department of Health
I don't know why there are so many comments calling this a scam. It is completely legitimate. They called me to verify that I had been tested at the end of a two-week quarantine.
Caller: (03) 8624 4051
This is 100% a scam. It is sophisticated and believable. The callers have somehow obtained a list of names & contact numbers of people holding Vic travel permits. They then make contact and will attempt to obtain further personal details.
Caller: Jack - DHHS
Called me advising I hadn't had my second vaccine yet and made an appointment for me. Didn't ask any details. Knew where & what date I had 1st vaccine and received an email follow up with the appointment. Seems legit.
I’ve been getting messages saying I’ve entered a red zone in Victoria but I haven’t gone into Victoria, then I get a text saying be prepared to receive a call from this number and then they call me, I’ve gotten these calls like 4 times a day and I don’t know how to stop it. I feel it’s a scam Caller: (03) 8624 4051
Claimed to be from DHHS, young Aussie girl. When asked for the reason of the call, she tried to give shape to fluff and consequently fumbled. Confirmed scam.
Caller: Department of Health (LEGITIMATE - DO answer!)
Received call from a DHS contact tracer, informing me I am considered a primary close contact of a confirmed COVID-19 case and I need to quarantine for 14 days from date of exposure. She accurately provided me with my name, date of birth, and exact date and time I was at the Tier 1 exposure site. A quick Google search showed that location had indeed been closed for cleaning. She asked me for the locations I had been recently and the details of any secondary contacts.
I later followed-up with DHS 1300 651 160) and they confirmed all of the above.
Please do answer the call and cooperate, for the sake of your own health and those of your loved ones - to prevent the spread of COVID!
Rang about my infant son being a primary close contact at a specific place. All information was correct. Scammers got accurate information. Told them I’ve already been contacted and they ended the call politely.
I'm torn with this number, they called me once but after a couple of minutes it felt sketch so I hung up, they've called me 3 times since then but I've missed their calls. They called some others I know. When they contacted me I was told it was Victoria Health, but when they called someone else I know they said they were Western Public Health and all seemed to check out, so I don't know if their number is being spoofed or something.
Caller: Claiming from DOH
Received a call at 18:27 am from this number, with well-rehearsed communication. Asking for my name, DOB and address. It was a bit unusual, then I request confirmation or a receipt from the DOH, as ATO does, however, the woman replied she will speak to her manager about it. Later she asked if I was at Bundoora last week, I replied that I was never been to Bundoora for the past few years. Caller asked if I was at any infected sites, I advised that I live not far from exposed sites. The caller asked me to isolate immediately and I will be contacted by DOH in a few days. Something did not sound right, first of all poorly trained contact "tracer", no proper identification process, no explanation of what will happen next, they had no idea of my locations and contact details. SCAM, do not answer and report the activity to the Department of Health.
Caller: Department of Health & Human Services
Just had a friend who travelled from NSW to Victoria receive a call from this number saying they were DHHS. Enquired about their travel and asked a lot of questions and some a bit off track - possibly from a set script. Not very professional sounding, but likely to be legitimate. If you call the number back, the recorded message says something like, "you have been contacted by DHHS and we will try and contact you again."
They keep on calling me to arrange my second COVID shot even though I told them that I've already had it. They could also not confirm where I had my first shot when I asked them.
This is a SCAM number. I called DHHS to confirm and it isn't anything to do with them.
Received a text msg saying to be ready to receive a call. Call came through from this number within 10 seconds. Was to book my 2nd covid vaccination. Also got confirmation emails and reminder text for when vaccine was booked. Not a scam, I attended my appointment at the time, date and location specified.
