Caller: Department of Human Health and Services
Didn't answer the number, but it was followed by a SMS from DHHS about a travel permit to enter Victoria, and a reminder to get tested within 72 hours of return and self quarantine until I received a negative test result. Seems legit as I had got an orange zone permit a few weeks ago. But, restrictions changed by the time I did travel which made testing and self quarantine unnecessary, and I had a new permit by that time, so they obviously haven't updated their system to reflect this.
I first received a SMS to say I will receive a call from DHHS from this number (03) 8624 4051 re contact tracing. Asked my DOB and address. Was very suspicious. I hung up. Beware Text message first, then call claiming to be from Department of Health, asked if I had or was about to travel to Victoria from a red zone. Heavy accent, kid in background..
I called the real Department of Health who say is not one of their numbers and is a scam.
This is a confirmed scam, not a DHHS number Caller: Dhhs
Indian dog from the "DHS" somehow knew I was at a tier 1 exposure site. Got me at a vulnerable time. I passed over personal information. SCAM!
I am getting up to 9 sms messages a day telling me someone will contact me on this number and to be 'prepared to receive a call from the Department of Health' So far after 4 days of text no call has come. Seems sus especially when I call the number get an automated message that someone has tried to contact me. No option on phone to block number either as there is for normal messages. Any ideas how to stop these texts would be appreciated 2nd contact from this number apparently to book me in for my second pfizer vax.
Last night I told them I had already had both vaccinations and ended the call.
They have tried to make contact again today.
I'm suss as my vaccinations were done at work and I have never contacted the DHHS about it.
Caller: (03) 8624 4051
i received a call from (03) 8624 4051.and said they called from human service and wanted to talk to my wife about partner payment. i told them i am at work and my wife is at home.I asked reason why they call me but did not answer.just hang up the phone.
I returned a call from (03) 8624 4051 but reached vm for Department of Health and Human Services Caller: Department of Health (LEGITIMATE - DO answer!)
Received call from a DHS contact tracer, informing me I am considered a primary close contact of a confirmed COVID-19 case and I need to quarantine for 14 days from date of exposure. She accurately provided me with my name, date of birth, and exact date and time I was at the Tier 1 exposure site. A quick Google search showed that location had indeed been closed for cleaning. She asked me for the locations I had been recently and the details of any secondary contacts.
I later followed-up with DHS 1300 651 160) and they confirmed all of the above.
Please do answer the call and cooperate, for the sake of your own health and those of your loved ones - to prevent the spread of COVID!
Rang about my infant son being a primary close contact at a specific place. All information was correct. Scammers got accurate information. Told them I’ve already been contacted and they ended the call politely.
Caller: Jake from the DHHS
I received a text and a call from this number - did not seem like a hoax and still unsure if it is - he gave me lots of information and telephone numbers to call for further information relating to payment claims and he also gave me a CRM number. He also took my address & some other personal details. If this is a scam the DHHS will be chasing their arses as no one will respond to the text and phone call they are supposed to do on a daily basis (which they arent)!!!
Obviously, I tried to call back the DHHS now but it long waits - took me an hour and a half to get through to them the other day. FFS!
Next thing the people turning up at our doors will be scoping out our houses. What's the world coming to when you cant trust no one!!!
I'm torn with this number, they called me once but after a couple of minutes it felt sketch so I hung up, they've called me 3 times since then but I've missed their calls. They called some others I know. When they contacted me I was told it was Victoria Health, but when they called someone else I know they said they were Western Public Health and all seemed to check out, so I don't know if their number is being spoofed or something.
Caller: Claiming from DOH
Received a call at 18:27 am from this number, with well-rehearsed communication. Asking for my name, DOB and address. It was a bit unusual, then I request confirmation or a receipt from the DOH, as ATO does, however, the woman replied she will speak to her manager about it. Later she asked if I was at Bundoora last week, I replied that I was never been to Bundoora for the past few years. Caller asked if I was at any infected sites, I advised that I live not far from exposed sites. The caller asked me to isolate immediately and I will be contacted by DOH in a few days. Something did not sound right, first of all poorly trained contact "tracer", no proper identification process, no explanation of what will happen next, they had no idea of my locations and contact details. SCAM, do not answer and report the activity to the Department of Health.
Caller: Department of Health & Human Services
Just had a friend who travelled from NSW to Victoria receive a call from this number saying they were DHHS. Enquired about their travel and asked a lot of questions and some a bit off track - possibly from a set script. Not very professional sounding, but likely to be legitimate. If you call the number back, the recorded message says something like, "you have been contacted by DHHS and we will try and contact you again."
They keep on calling me to arrange my second COVID shot even though I told them that I've already had it. They could also not confirm where I had my first shot when I asked them.
This is a SCAM number. I called DHHS to confirm and it isn't anything to do with them.
Received a text msg saying to be ready to receive a call. Call came through from this number within 10 seconds. Was to book my 2nd covid vaccination. Also got confirmation emails and reminder text for when vaccine was booked. Not a scam, I attended my appointment at the time, date and location specified.
Caller: Vic health
I received a message saying Vic health is going to contact me regarding my 2nd dose vaccine. I have done both dose of vaccine and i didn't get a call.
Text message preceded the call claiming to be "VIC Health" which is NOT the correct name for DH. Text claimed to follow-up second dose COVID-19 vax, which I already received. DH will only call from a hidden number. Caller: Claimed to be DHHS
Asked me if I made a booking for vaccination….
Sounds sus but they didn’t ask any other information from me.
Is this legit or not?!
