Caller: Claim to be DHS

Received a call at 8:30pm not sure why so late. Claimed to be from the DHS contact tracing. However the man who called seemed to be reading a script. I know a lot of scams are going around so I ended the call as I was getting very suspicious. He had all the information however asked for my email address not sure why. I’m very confused because I am in quarantine atm and I am waiting for a call.

Ok...

I received a ph call from Victorian Health Department YESTERDAY Regarding my permit.

Which at the time was extreme zone for Albury- Wodonga permitted

From my address Walla - to work...Wodonga

Now they are telling me....
That I have to do a covid test.
Isolate for 14 days coming back from Wodonga to Walla straight after work

Then they asked me have I gone to Albury whilst going back through to Walla,, -

I had taken Mums washing in and organised her groceries on Saturday previously.

I haven't been out of our Zones.
Then they asked me is my address in Wodonga. .
It's my place of work. ..

I kept saying home is in Walla. .. then they asked if I have permission to go home??
Was this a trick question !!!!
Omg

The Victoria Services stated I have to get a Specified permit.... which doesn't include Hairdressing on their Victorian Site..of permits...

Yet the news has said Wodonga is open for hairdressing businesses . I've updated the ph apps as well

So what do I do now.. ???

Have a covid test
Isolate for 14 days....

Im supposed start back in Wodonga on Thurs......

I thought I was a border bubble person Orginally

Is the Victorian Dept behind in their news
I'm so confused

The African sounding gentleman asked me only basic details which I don't mind handing over, and he knew the address of a site I had been to and in contact with a positive case, so I don't see how it could be a scam... I think just a poorly managed DHS system

So I got a call from this number this morning, after getting an official text from "DH-COVID19" telling me I'd been at a tier 1 site and had to isolate. The lady knew my name and I said "look, sorry, but this number comes up as spam online. I got the text and I'm isolating, but I'm not answering anymore questions. Have a great day."
I later got a second text from "DH-COVID19" saying to prepare to receive a call from the dept of health on this number. The call was genuine. This is a legitimate number. For some stupid reason it doesn't come up as dept of health though.

I initially had this number blocked, due to looking up the number and seeing scam reviews but after receiving multiple messages from DHS intertwining with the number, I called it back. Reached a voice message saying they tried to contact me and will try again later. They called again for the third time and I answered. Initially, it seemed very suspicious but they had information about me which I did not tell them and was at an exposure site (my work). They had the dates I had to quarantine and when to have my 13 day COVID test also. Part of contact tracing. Legit phone number.

This is a legitimate number.
If they ask to confirm your full name and birthday its just for clarification they are talking to the correct person.
My lodgement was due to covid exposure site. On the phone for about 20min going through the script of services and support if no family can assist during quarantine. Also went through rules. I am not sure why people are quick to say it's a scam when the company has so many divisions. They do the right thing to advise who they are and why they have called.

They rang me and told me my vaccination was cancelled, but when I rang the Covid hotline, I was told that I still had an appointment in the system.
The big question is that they somehow got the booking information.
Returning the call only goes to a recorded message saying that they will call again.
Has there been a privacy breach at DHHS????

THIS IS A COMPLETE SCAM

There are so many comments on this site saying it’s legitimate but it’s a COMPLETE SCAM.

I got a call from this number on a Saturday night saying they were from the Department of Health Victoria. They asked if they were speaking to me (they knew my full name) They then asked if it was a good time to speak and I said no. They then told me it was logged in their system and they would call me tomorrow.
I started researching and came to terms that this was a scam. The text messages I had received were suspicious and I looked online and I haven’t been to any exposure sites, I live in regional Victoria, and am fully vaccinated.
They called me the next morning and everything was very suspicious. I asked her why she was calling and she said it had to to with the quarantine that I’m currently completing and they needed more details. I told her I wasn’t completing any quarantine. She then proceeded to tell me I had been to a tier one exposure site. I asked which one it was and she was taking her time in answering and stumbling over her words. She said last weeks exposure site on a specific date. Then I asked what the site was and she told me XXXX.
I am a patient at the specific chain clinic but I have not been to that specific site EVER. I go to another site of theirs.
I’m not exactly sure how they have got this information… maybe through my previous check ins at their other site.
I told them not to call me again and that on Monday I would be calling DHHS to report this number.

My work was a Tier 1 exposure site. I got a text saying I’d get a call from this number and 1 minute later they called me. They knew the address of my work and gave me correct details. They only asked for an email address and confirmed my 14 day lockdown dates match what my work has been telling me. He was very clearly reading from a script but I have no reason to believe it’s a scam - they didn’t ask for any bank info and it’s the same phone number that has called 4 of my co-workers all saying the same thing.

Not a scam it’s legitimate, I was in a tier 1 site they had all my details and when I checked into the site via QKR code. I did not have to give any details they knew everything.
