Caller: Victorian Department of Health I don't know why there are so many comments calling this a scam. It is completely legitimate. They called me to verify that I had been tested at the end of a two-week quarantine.
Legitimate number.

Caller: (03) 8624 4051 This is 100% a scam. It is sophisticated and believable. The callers have somehow obtained a list of names & contact numbers of people holding Vic travel permits. They then make contact and will attempt to obtain further personal details.

I’ve been getting messages saying I’ve entered a red zone in Victoria but I haven’t gone into Victoria, then I get a text saying be prepared to receive a call from this number and then they call me, I’ve gotten these calls like 4 times a day and I don’t know how to stop it. I feel it’s a scam

Caller: (03) 8624 4051 Claimed to be from DHHS, young Aussie girl. When asked for the reason of the call, she tried to give shape to fluff and consequently fumbled. Confirmed scam.

Caller: Department of Health (LEGITIMATE - DO answer!) Received call from a DHS contact tracer, informing me I am considered a primary close contact of a confirmed COVID-19 case and I need to quarantine for 14 days from date of exposure. She accurately provided me with my name, date of birth, and exact date and time I was at the Tier 1 exposure site. A quick Google search showed that location had indeed been closed for cleaning. She asked me for the locations I had been recently and the details of any secondary contacts.
I later followed-up with DHS 1300 651 160) and they confirmed all of the above. Please do answer the call and cooperate, for the sake of your own health and those of your loved ones - to prevent the spread of COVID!

Caller: DHHS Rang about my infant son being a primary close contact at a specific place. All information was correct. Scammers got accurate information. Told them I’ve already been contacted and they ended the call politely.

Caller: Claiming from DOH Received a call at 18:27 am from this number, with well-rehearsed communication. Asking for my name, DOB and address. It was a bit unusual, then I request confirmation or a receipt from the DOH, as ATO does, however, the woman replied she will speak to her manager about it. Later she asked if I was at Bundoora last week, I replied that I was never been to Bundoora for the past few years. Caller asked if I was at any infected sites, I advised that I live not far from exposed sites. The caller asked me to isolate immediately and I will be contacted by DOH in a few days. Something did not sound right, first of all poorly trained contact "tracer", no proper identification process, no explanation of what will happen next, they had no idea of my locations and contact details. SCAM, do not answer and report the activity to the Department of Health.

Caller: Department of Health & Human Services Just had a friend who travelled from NSW to Victoria receive a call from this number saying they were DHHS. Enquired about their travel and asked a lot of questions and some a bit off track - possibly from a set script. Not very professional sounding, but likely to be legitimate. If you call the number back, the recorded message says something like, "you have been contacted by DHHS and we will try and contact you again."

They keep on calling me to arrange my second COVID shot even though I told them that I've already had it. They could also not confirm where I had my first shot when I asked them.
This is a SCAM number. I called DHHS to confirm and it isn't anything to do with them.

Caller: Dhhs Received a text msg saying to be ready to receive a call. Call came through from this number within 10 seconds. Was to book my 2nd covid vaccination. Also got confirmation emails and reminder text for when vaccine was booked. Not a scam, I attended my appointment at the time, date and location specified.

Text message preceded the call claiming to be "VIC Health" which is NOT the correct name for DH. Text claimed to follow-up second dose COVID-19 vax, which I already received. DH will only call from a hidden number.

Caller: Covid 2nd Dose I just wanna say be careful. My mum had an sms about this vic health bs stuff and she went to call it. In the call, the voicemail said about not calling and crap and my mum rung the same number 4 times. I stopped her and asked the actual covid hotline and they also said its a potential scam. Don't call these numbers the 2nd time if you know its going to say the same things and hang up. I hope this helps you to be safe

Claiming to be from DHHS (department of health and human services) however that acronym no longer exists in Victoria. Hung up before they got any info but very suspicious. They also knew where I had booked my initial vaccine appt (but I didn’t get it done there) so they stuffed that up too.
