Caller: Optus billing They rang to provide me with an update but hung up when I answered. They rang like this 3 times and then sent a message saying they couldn't contact me to provide update. It is not a scam but I think they hang up so they can pretend they made an effort to sort out my billing dispute. Like I tell everyone I meet, don't ever contract with Optus.

This number rang me many times. Answered, the guy said he's from Optus. I online chatted with Optus, they confirmed it's not an Optus number, it's a scammer. I was suggested by Optus to block this number.

Caller: Would not provide his name: Said called from Optus #### HANG UP ##### Its a major scam. Said he was from Optus to installed my Digital TV. Ask him for what address he was referring too and he could not tell me? WTF Told him I cancelled it several weeks ago so why is he calling me. Asked him to what he was referring too when he said Digital TV and he could not answer (eg Foxtel or Fetch). Told him not worry about it and he wanted to verify my surname and date of birth. I then hung up on him. Called Optus and they said no one should be calling me from that number about a digital TV service.

Did not answer unfamiliar number, but it was follwed by a txt message from optus quoting a legitamate recent reference number for a fault that was already fixed. Why there is a call for a resolved issue woulod be anybody's guess. I would not be giving personal information for an incoming call where the caller cannot be indentified.

unknown but more than likely an Indian person flogging funeral Insurance or cheap mortgage loans, off shore call centers should be banned from Cold Calling Australian numbers.

I rang back (02) 8049 6150 x 2. No answer rang out after being 'busy' few times. This guy said from Phillipines had my first name. Asked was nbn ok as he had to have another appt check it working. I said all fine and working no need. He said wld close account request call out someone. Not sure if legit or not. Why a nsw prefix to 8049 etc as (02]??. Sounds dodgy!
