Got a missed call from this number twice.
A lot of people are saying it's Optus and some are saying Virgin.
I've recently upgraded my phone with Virgin and I suspect that this is them calling me back. But I'm not a 100% sure as they won't pick up when I called back.

This is a legitimate Optus number and they called me to authorize changes to our home phone requested by my wife. (the account is in my name)

had 2 calls 09/11/16 1.14pm & 1.16pm from (02) 8049 6150 & 02049 8945 wanting me to confirm my name etc without saying who they were. Apparently from Virgin who use Optus telco. When I asked who I was speaking to & that I was Googling Virgin contact number the line went dead & then sounded like it was underwater, then the second call came through - not going to give my info to someone I cannot identify - name dob etc- BE CAREFUL

It is Optus, I have tried to call then back numerous times, getting through twice to be told by recorded message phone not connected or there is a problem with the phone. Is this a great phone company of what????????????????????

Optus is scamming us. always in credit with account. when people call me they get message phone has been disconnected. phone optus and finish up with call centre in mailla. optus are doing ozzies out of jobs and avoiding tax. then this number tries to ring me. no dial tone just missed call. call back and no answer. OPTUS ARE REALLY BAD PEOPLE

16/09/2016. I have found that Optus generally leave a message as they did for me earlier on a different number. Although some people think this number is from them, i suspect & believe they give our numbers out. Not so uncommon & funny how the accents will often be the same. Can't call it back.

This number called me 8 times in 90 minutes today 18/8/16. Contacted Optus with no indication that they were responsible. When I phoned back the number was always engaged. If this is Optus they may have a rogue employee.
It is time victims of this sort of harassment had a REAL and EFFECTIVE redress; no more namby/pamby "there just isn't anything we can do. I use the Optus call blocking system but these pests get around it somehow. Perhaps a former technician could help us by coming up with some novel technical actions.
