First there was a voicemail saying something about NBN installation and refer to My Optus app. When I logged into app there was a text message about confirming appointment. I text replied asking for more details as I don't know what this is. They text replied to quote an order and they would call me, what is a good number. I gave my mobile as they were already in my app and they had left a voicemail. I received a call from this landline number with ID "Coles Optus" mentioning the text message. He Indian accent) wanted me to confirm a few details. Only one I confirmed was my name. He asked for my address and I asked them what address do they have. He then went to quote an (03) number as the contact....I told them that's wrong and I don't know why they're calling as I did not request anything. He apologised saying their details must be incorrect and hung up. I logged back into my app and saw NO previous text messages. I have now uninstalled this app and will track my bank cards for any unknown transactions. These scams are growing to be incredibly sophisticated. BEWARE EVERYBODY.

Caller: OPTUS This is not a scam caller or someone phising for data. They called to confirm a technician to install my new connection, which was followed by an SMS from OPTUS using the same number they always have to message me. Please don't be so paranoid at this number!!

Caller: optus technical support Legitimate Optus Technical Support + follow up call. Contacted Optus support to check the bona fides of this number on 8 june,20. Optus will call you on this number if: *you have reported any support issues *you have a new service and they are following up everything is ok. MESSAGE TO OPTUS: Would be HELPFUL if you sent customers an EMAIL first that has this number in it, eg: A message that says: We will be calling you on xxxxxx etc. Like many other people I DONT answer calls from UNKNOWN numbers, and I also definately do NOT supply personal/identifying information to UNKNOWN callers on Unverified and unknown numbers.

This gets ridiculous. I am getting this calls to my mobile with some stuff attached and a note that it faild tobe downloaded. I am under a siege from various bastrards, 'no call' number does not help, comlpaints go nowhere, police as one may expect is not interested, ombudsman is useless. I may try the local MP. next ... after the end of the pandemy.

Rang optus 1300 550 731 to verify this number. Was told Optus normally send SMS or email and they rarely ring up customers. Yes optus does use this number but the scamming rats call from a service that changes the calling number. Much like the app message x.... ASK THEM QUESTIONS Just DONT ANSWER THEIRS
