Such a scam! I had text messages and mixed calls from "Telstra" regarding the transfer of my phone contract. Never been with Telstra or even thought about transferring! He asked for my name I said I prefer not to considering I didn't know why I was being called and he said he only wanted to see if my name matched the one on the system for the transfer. Gave it but refused to give any more information when he asked for birth date, address and license number! All very personal information and after reading these knew it was possibly a scam. Told them I have no association with Telstra at all and just wanted to be left alone thankfully he finally got the message and we ended the call.

I recently gave my number to Telstra (two days ago) as a backup as my current home phone was not working. This number rang two times just now and I could not get back into contact with them (immediately hangs up).

Had a call on my mobile from a fellow saying he was from Telstra enquiring about my NBN connection and if it was a good time to talk, Told him it wasn't and he said he would call me back tomorrow. He then wanted me to verify my name and date of birth. Said to him your ringing me so you should have those details I'm not going to verify anything. Said he would ring me back tomorrow. I said I have your number (02) 9506 0700) on my mobile and that I would contact him. He than said for me to phone him on 1800 834 273 (option 2 & 0). no intentions of doing this!! BE WARNED!!!!

I have been contacted by the same person for months from this number (02) 9506 0700 (Deeta), even gave me a pin no. Just realising this has had to have been a scam, and this has been the reason all along for my much awaited 2 year connection to NBN. Telstra needs to either screen their employees or have a secure authentic identification process when calling customers.

Been called twice now from (02) 8260 0000 and (02) 9506 0700 and both have tried asking my for my DOB and Full Name for 'verification purposes' I said why would you need to verify who I am as you called me, she asked for my address, I said no, she said that she is from Telstra with information about my upcoming NBN and Telstra appointments, however, they have already happened. It's sad and scary because not everyone would catch on to a scam like this and willingly hand over sensitive information which could compromise their identity.

Yet another silly number calling for private information ??? As if we would! The man on the other end claiming to be Telstra, wanting information... "I don't think so" needless to say I was up for a chat.... at the end he was confused....when will it ever STOP?

I received a call from this number I thought might have been phishing but it sounded very professional. They wanted to check my details for emergency services purposes. Before they started they asked for my birthday. I hung up but then received a text from Telstra saying cal 132200 to confirm my address. If Telstra is using this as a mechanism to check data its sounds too much like a scam.

Telstra calling to confirm a cable internet order I placed earlier in the day - I did not answer and they then texted me a 1800 number to call and a code to quote to continue the process.

Have had several missed calls from this number in the last few days since contacting Telstra about internet. They leave no message and when I call back it cant be connected. The calls I have taken from Telstra were not from this number.

Caller claimed they were my NBN case manager. Funny that I already have a case manager who has a totally different name and an Aussie at that. Wanted to confirm all my details however i refused to give these details out. Questioned the callers phone number as it did not connect when I tried to return the call....Caller advised this was not her number??? Have now emailed my case manager for confirmation. Scammers I'd say!!!!

got a call on my mobile and then landline straight after. No message left. Like others, I did have contact with Telstra in the last day or so. So somehow these scammers are monitoring churned numbers and feeding off that fact.

Just rung from (02) 9506 0700 about changing my mobile to Telstra. I haven't asked to change my mobile. Have asked about NBN bundles, said no I hadn't, gave my surname and date of birth to have it confirmed I didn't want it. I feel that I gave away information that can be used but have no idea how to undo it!!!
