These guys are scammers. I confirmed with telstra it is not their phone number and no one has been ringing me from Telstra. I have now had 6 calls in total, the first two being my home phone so i had telstra block the number, now they are ringing my mobile number. They want to talk about my nbn order i have placed. Well hello d*ckheads i already have nbn. Beware (02) 8260 0000

This is actually the Telstra NBN connection team. They follow up on transition/new orders if the customer has not connected their modem up yet. I had the same call today and asked for the person's staff ID. I then promptly searched her ID via our internal links and confirmed her details. The landline number provided is the Telstra NBN Case Management team. You should not be worried about this call, ask for their D Number (staff ID) or a interaction reference number so you can call 13 22 00 if you are afraid to verify yourself.

Yep. Telstra (India) calling to confirm your appointment for a tech to visit and install your NBN modem.....even though you specifically asked for the modem to be mailed-out to you for self-installation.

Had a call from a gentleman with a strong Indian accent on this number wanting to talk to "Mr Robert" to discuss my NBN appointment. As we didn't have any NBN appointment and with the caller not knowing my correct name I presumed that it was one of the Indian scam callers that we regularly get wanting to "discuss our Telstra internet service", so hung up on him. From other reports it would appear that the number is in fact a legit Telstra number but I am at a loss to understand why Telstra would continue to use an Indian call centre to make this type of call.

It's a Telstra NBN account manager. I have been talking to them off and on for nearly a week

I had the call too and very similar questions re provide personal details. The caller said he was from Telstra and me that my NBN is running on backup. I did not provide him my details and asked him to call me later. In the meantime, I contacted the technician from NBN who came to my home and set it all up and asked him why my NBN is running on Backup. He said he never heard of such thing as my NBN is working perfectly. He came around this morning to check and said your NBN is fine. I am just wondering about the caller??? Also, if it is legitimately Telstra, then why don't they send an email as they have our email details to inform us of the problem, issues,...... so at least we as customers know.
One caution, just remember the scammers are reading our post and they actually respond to our post either acting as a victim or making it legitimate business.

He rang back and left a message to ring 1800 834 273 with an order number. Rang telstra on 132200 , they said as we are not with telstra, a technician would not call in regards to the nbn, and advised to report as a scam.

I have just had NBN installed yesterday. Got a call from this number twice today and after doing a reverse check on the number decided to answer second time. An Indian woman told me she was from Telstra and wanted to verify my details so she could finalise my NBN connection. Suspicion is my middle name, so I told her my NBN was connected and working just fine thank you and I was not going to give a cold caller my details. She got a bit flustered at my refusal and questions and advised me to call 1800 834 273 option 0 instead. I haven't done this. Not sure if its a scam but I will nbot give details over the phone unless I make the call myself.

Does not provide any Telstra ID.
Should not need your security ID when they ring you.

It's Telstra, regarding an NBN connection that you have already ordered or might be waiting for updates on.

Caller: A chap with an Indian accent told me he was from Telstra

He asked to speak to two people who I do not know, and said it was regarding my NBN appointment. I told him he had the wrong number
and I hung up
in any case I'm not with Telstra, and already have NBN .

Returned a call to this number claiming to be the Telstra-NBN crew. They seemed to know enough to have access to Telstra electronic files to be fair dinkum. They were singularly unhelpful and full of the usual bureaucratic garbage.

I get the impression that if you dial this number, you are re-directed (without your knowledge) to a call-centre in the Phillipines or India or wherever. About 40 years ago, some mob tried to convince the firm I worked for that we should use them as a call-centre and I rejected notion. This is a very effective way of disconnecting the firm from its customers and letting the customers know this.

It demonstrates Telstra's arrogant disregard for its customers and Telstra is best avoided.

My NBN is working perfectly. I don’t know why they called. Very strange. Asked my full name and date of birth. They hang up and can hear telstra sound. Very strange
