Has anyone has any idea how to catch the culprit who did annoy us? I have registered under "donotcall.gov.au." but not 100% successful rate. The same number/caller still call my home phone but not often in a day - not like on 1st April but still going on. First, (Repeatly) from 019 833 9100 on 14/3 14:34pm, then 1/4 at 8am then 7x between 11am to 12noon (every 10min) then at 18:35, 19:20, 20:05 and 20:50pm. I only answered once on 1/4 (April fool). The number on the screen 019 833 9100. The next day on 2/4 at 16:14pm. On 3/4 at 16:09pm. On 4/4 08:07am. On 05/4 18:28. On 6/4 08:12am. Most times no sound at the other end. Occasionally the voice prompt you to press option 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 either to replay, reply the call, to delete or go to next but not telling which company and the reason for calling - no real person at the other end. just stupid voice recorder.?? scam ? Please watch the number on the screen before pick up the phone - you never know the hacker can steal your personal or bank details

says it has a text to voice message, computer generated voice going on about a shop that's closed due her mother dying and she can't run it. i assume the next step is offering the stock cheap. calls every ten minutes and says it's from 0407 555 654 but it goes to message bank. don't answer it! if you call back the 0198339100 number it wants a password to get messages.

Keep getting this number call us on a business land line. Telstra Technical support about our Telstra Internet Connection! Funny thing is, we have nothing to do with Telstra, so obviously a scam. Hasn't stopped them from trying up to 2 or sometimes 3 times a day. Anyone know where to direct the bullet they need?

I just had a message left from this number 0198339100. It was a female computerised voice, saying "That photo was taken on our wedding day, April 25th, 1952." What the????? I had to disconnect the landline in order for it to stop. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Hi Pearce,
if you are on an iPhone, you can go into phone, hit the information button and scroll down to the bottom of the page and then press the block the caller option, this will stop the caller from reaching you unless they find their way around but then you can repeat this process for the next number until the stop. if you have and android or a landline you can just go into your local service providers store and get them to block this number from contacting you ever again.
I hope that this was helpful.

They started phoning 6.40pm Saturday 3/10/15 - every 5 to 10 minutes. Only activated message by speaking.Said there was 2 messages. The message was something about football final tomorrow, I hung up. Phone kept ringing, until I activated 2nd message which was "I can see you have company call me tomorrow on xxx".

It's "talking text" I checked under "telstrabusiness.com site. I have a Telstra T-Hub phone system which apparently enables this technology. After receiving probably 40 calls in less than a day on my home phone, including at 1am. The number 0198339100 appeared on the screen but the phone would ring once then stop before I could pick it up. On ringing 0198339999 I was told I had 2 messages, which I replayed. The system retrieved the number of the phone that the calls were coming from. The messages were from a friend who was sending them to my home phone instead of my mobile. Once I retrieved and deleted them, the repeated ringings stopped. You can block this service on your home phone if you don't want others to leave messages.

This is all completely correct. I got about 6 calls and I don't answer numbers I don't know but came on here and read Alan's post and answered the next call and waited about 10 seconds and it read me a text message. Thanks Alan for your help.

Telstra send a talking text to my landline using this number. When you first pick it up you have to wait a couple of seconds, you do then get the option to press 5 to delete.

I had 15 missed calls on my mobile from this number. When I read the information provided by Telstra it says that if a text/sms is being sent to a device not equipped to receving text/sms then this number calls to read out the message, however my mobile phone is/has always been equipped to receiving text/sms then why am I receiving calls from this number.
