this number has rang the house 3 times today, i hear a beep after i say hello for the 2nd time then it says goodbye.. what the heck is going on.. its freaking me out.

I got 2 calls today, tried the text to my landline... Yes it does show this number, but unlike the messages on the landline with this 198 number saying it was from the 198 number, it said my text and my number...

Just received my first call from this number, with an odd message and telling me I had 12 other messages waiting. After reading comments here I sent a test to my home phone from my mobile and received it in a matter of seconds. Rang Telstra to say I did not want this service and they kindly barred this service. Was told that each message retrieved costs 1cent. Hope this comment helps others

6 calls from this number on my mobile. please explain. not the first time this happened. got a voice to text as well. very odd.

Wrecked my Sunday. I eventually unplugged the phine, which meant no-one could call!

2 to 3 DAILY unreceived fax calls from this number..0198339100.....Help it is driving me crazy. I have no time for this..

I call telstra and optus neither coul do anything about it. this sucks, does anybosy else have answers

As 'Jack" July 09, 2011 says, this is message from a mobile to the land line. In your case it seems that someone was trying to wish you a Happy New Year! We just found out that if you answer the call you'll find out the mobile number the call is coming from.

Kept calling Xmas day

Gee love being woken up on New Years Day at 7 am by this stupid number. Not happy, and would like to get to the bottom of what this call was all about.

It was SMS someone accidently sent to my home line instead of mobile. Have a telstra hub so it showed uo.

just plain irritating, calls every 30 mins, no answer on the other end.

I also got a call from this number - seemed dodgy, so I didn't wait to hear my messages.

I seem to get a number of these calls from this number around this time of the year and because it sounds just like a fax machine trying to send me something I hang up. I always thought some business was trying to send advertising and that my ph number may have previsouly belonged to a business. Now I see thats not the case. It is still annoying and I would hope I could work out how to stop it.

I have just started receiving these calls too. It is a voice to text, however it is from a mobile that we do not know, and the initial message said "sorry about yesterday, I had a bad day". We are also with Telstra and have a private number. If it continues and Telstra don't rectify, I will take it further.

this stupid number 0198339100 called me twice at 8am this morning and woke me up. Then got a nonsense msg that didn't even make sense. the number it gave as the mobile texting me is not in my phone and when i rang it back it was a disconnected number anyway. I think I will call telstra
