This might be something to help re calls from this number: a friend sent me a text message from her mobile but accidentally clicked my home landline number. I received a call from this number (0198339100) and the text message my friend had sent was left on my answering machine as an understandable voice message.

Received a call from 0198339100 on the 1 Jan 1919 @ 8.01am.On pickup no answer, when I called back, message to ring 0198339999 apparently telstra message which also was dead, no answer. We are a private/silent number. Most likely another scam, we had one awhile ago stating they were from telstra, technicians. My computer was hacked they said full of viruses etc and I needed to do this and that enter a code and they would fix it, I DIDN'T. I rang telstra myself to check and yes a scam. I asked telstra being a silent number how they got it and what could be done. Apparently the scammers use voip / Internet using a generated code picking random numbers to call. You can't block it, wonderful world the Internet, but you can block all overseas calls (telstra did that) as most scams originate from abroad. Sadly you can't block the more sophisticated scammers using Voip. Hope that helps. Victoria Australia

Caller: +61 198339100 - Text to Voice Service My mother sent me a text message from her mobile. Instead of sending to my mobile, she unintentionally sent the SMS to my home landline number. The SMS was converted to a voice message and delivered via 0198339100 to my landline number and recorded on the associated answering machine - Good to know that the message got to me!

Rings every 10 to 15 mins and there is no one there, started at 8.30pm, got sick off it and unplugged the landline. Plugged it back in an hour later and it rang again. So now my phone is unplugged again. Maybe it will stopped by tomorrow.

Repeated calls from this number either normal rings or just half a ring, enough to wake you up at all hours repeatedly!

Caller: Telstra SMS to Voice Service If somebody sends an SMS to a landline this service will call the landline with the message. You can't call the service back you must answer the call. Unfortunately scammers can also use this service to hide where they are coming from but the service itself is not a scam.

This number has called many, many times. After no answer the first time, I checked here and read the previous comments. I then blocked it on my phone but see the phone flash often when I am on the computer (four times today!) I check to make sure it wasn't a friend etc. I have not rung it back or answered since the first time so don't know who they are pretending to be. Thank you Reverse Australia, I LOVE this sight it has saved my sanity many times.

Caller: TELSTRA +61 198339100 This is not a scam number, this is someone leaving you a text message sent to your landline , your phone company calls you will a robot voice and will tell you you have an unread text sent from someone, if you hang up, and say nothing the number will keep calling you back until you say "Hello" this triggers the robocall to read out the text message left for you , who the number was that did it and what time it was left.
you cannot block this number, but to stop getting abused by people purposely sending text messages to your landline in the wee hours of the night knowing this will keep calling you all night, call your phone company and have the TEXT MESSAGE CALLBACK OPTION removed off your number.
Best advice is ..If This number keeps calling you, answer it, say "Hello" and listen to the robocall text message someone has left for you, otherwise it will keep calling you over and over until you do.

Caller: A friend A text was sent to our work landline and the phone number is a Telstra number. To listen to the text, get the number of the person sending the text, the time and date of the text and to delete it you need to ring 0198 3399 999. Yes sometimes the text might be from a scammer but the number itself if not a scam. If you ring back it redirects you to ring 0198 3399 999 to pickup your message. The message on our work number was from a friend of someone here and it was merely Text me if you want Gab x
