Hi, recently was looking for a car. Seen an ad for a 2013 toyota hilux for $13500,car was completely kitted out with all the extras. Had said his name was cameron smith,e-mail cameron @ royal-australian-airforce-gov.com. said he was being deployed to new Zealand and was based down in devonport Tasmania till he was to leave for 4 yrs, also said he wouldn't need the car as he didn't want it sitting in a garage for 4 yrs whilst he was overseas. Also told me he would have the car delived to my address, given I put the money into escrow and he'd give me 7 days to go over the car and all fees would be paid by him. Do not trust this person. Hope this helps anyone who also came across this poor pathetic excuse of a human.

He provided the same story and I unfortunately sent him a photo of me with my license. I am thankful that I was able to find this forum before sending the scammer any money.
He provided me with this number 0447 517 819 so I believe he has updated his phone number. I have reported it with Carsguide.

Same deal for me over the weekend. Looking at a 2013 Hyundai, i30, Active. Name was Cameron Paul Smith (again holding the licence details of him). The mobile number is 0480 001 829. At this point he is waiting for the money to be put into his escrow account...certainly not happening. One thing I am annoyed at is that I sent photos of drivers licences for myself and my husband and that it could be used for potential further “scams”. I have contacted CarsGuide to advise them, informed the Bank, contacted department of transport and spoken with the police and now raised a cyber gov request to ensure that my identity will not be used and to potentially getting a new one. Anyway, giving that info just in case someone else hears from this person as well

2014 mazda 3 for $7000 told me he was based in Devonport TAS and he needed to get rid or the car before he was shipped out to NZ for 3 years. Wanted to go through Escrow, sent me pictures of “himself” holding “his” drivers license. Way too good to be true, it’s one thing to commit fraud but to impose as one of our countrys’ defense soldiers? Hope this f$@ker gets what’s coming to him
