Seems that car is still doing the rounds. Got an email that sounded very similar to the one I got today out of the blue about a corolla registered in NSW. Enquired about an I30, but seems that he can't get his cons straight.

Got an email from Brett John Ryan (ryanbrettjohn @ gmail.com) offering to sell me a 2015 Toyota Corolla for $8000. (Think the car I enquired about was a ridiculously cheap I30)

Notice the similarity to the ones above?

Hi there,

Thank you for contacting me and sorry for taking so long to reply, I've been messed around by one previous buyer for lack of funds, I can confirm that the car is still for sale and never been involved in an accident, Nobody has smoked in it, I've attached some pictures so you can take a closer look at the car, excellent condition without any damage or scratches at all, Mechanically A1, it's a fantastic car, only traveled 75,000 kms, all of which being said I expect to get $ 8,000 for it. The only reason for selling this car so cheaply is because I am involved in a project and I will move to New Zealand on November 10th and not come back for the next 3 years. It's the first time I've been to New Zealand and I'm a little nervous but excited at the same time. It would be a shame to keep the car in the garage for 3 years without being used and I also need some cash before leaving for New Zealand. Right now I am located in Devonport TAS, because our squad it's doing some special training, and in case you decide to buy the car, I will deliver it to your address with our RAAF truck (Transport insurance is included). Besides, it's free and I will give you a 5 days inspection period so you can take the car to a mechanic and test it before I receive your money. Also, It will come with a Roadworthy Certificate and NSW Rego, so you don't have to do the running around, Registration paid until 16/11/2022.
You’ll love the car, I can guarantee you that.

Thank you!
Brett John Ryan

Hi there,

Thank you for contacting me and sorry for taking so long to reply, I've been messed around by one previous buyer for lack of funds, I can confirm that the car is still for sale and never been involved in an accident, Nobody has smoked in it, I've attached some pictures so you can take a closer look at the car, excellent condition without any damage or scratches at all, Mechanically A1, it's a fantastic car, only traveled 70000 kms, all of which being said I expect to get $7,500 for it. The only reason for selling this car so cheaply is because I am involved in a project and I will move to New Zealand on September 10th and not come back for the next 3 years. It's the first time I've been to New Zealand and I'm a little nervous but excited at the same time. EMAIL 2
Hi there,

Thank you for your email, as I've mentioned in my post, at this moment I am near Devonport TAS in a military base, waiting to be deployed in New Zealand, I am doing a special training program each day and I am not allowed to get out of the unit or give calls whenever I want, my phone number is 0485 838 705 - You can write me a message but I do not know when I can respond, so the best will be if you answer me by email. My last price including shipping to your address will be $7,500 (It will not take much more than 2-3 business days to receive the car). Because it's a large transaction, we will complete the deal using Escrow https://my.escrow.com/myescrow/includes/status/ coz I already prearranged the whole process with them, the money will be paid via Escrow, so you will deposit the money online directly to Escrow and they will hold and secure your money during the entire transaction. I repeat, they will hold and ensure your money until you receive the car in good condition and will release the funds to us only after you decide to keep the car and normally register it, into your name. If by any reason (the car has any hidden damages or it is not as described by me) you can reject the deal, When this happens, Escrow will refund you in full, you can rest safe in the knowledge that Escrow is one of the most trusted and secure escrow services across the globe. If you wish to go further, let me know your details (full name, full address and home phone number) so I can open a transaction with Escrow and declare you as a buyer, I will need your details also to transfer the registration over, they will then contact you and explain the whole process in detail. You must know that Escrow will contact you without any obligation to buy or pay some fees - The fees will be paid by me.
I am looking forward to hearing from you.

I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Emma White

PS: I’ve attached a copy of my driver's license, so you’ll see who you're doing the deal with.
Sent pic of qld licence.

IM SO TIRED OF THESE SCAMMERS.

Caller: No Body actually called.

I saw the advert on ebay & thought it sounded a bit suss so had to check it out the same as others.
Strangely enough I also replied to an advert for a 2017 Mazda cx3. This turned out to be in Alice Springs! With of course selling through Escrow.com. Much the same wording in the letters and an imminent quick transfer overseas.
IT'S a pity the web sites don't -before they are placed in what are usually honest Adds!

I got scammed by this person last year (they were using Sarah Hardarker's ID), and only recently got my money back from the bank. It makes me furious that this person is still doing it in 2022! I hope the cops catch this criminal! I foolishly sent my ID as well as the money, and the person created a bank account in my name. But the idiot didn't think that through, because I received mail about the account, went to the bank and they said the money I sent was there! So, we paused the account, but unfortunately it took me almost 6 months to retrieve the funds.

But, at least the scamming f*** didn't get to keep the money!

Hi everyone,

My identity (license) was stolen in this scam and has since been used by the scammer in subsequent online car scams which I have seen above. I have done multiple Report Cybers, Scamwatch, been to the Police who directed me to do a Report Cyber.

My apologies to anybody out there who has been caught up in the same scam thinking that they were dealing with me which is not the case. I have received many messages through facebook, family members etc and have asked every person to report these ads, and to file with the police if they can or do a ReportCyber.

In the original scam the person who emailed me was a Rachel Humphries 0480 038 268; rachel @ air-sea-field-guard.com)

This is a scam for sure. Watch out for someone using the name BRETT JOHN RYAN selling a 2014 RAV 4 on Autotrader telling the same story that he's going to New Zealand for 3 years for some kind of training. Needs to sell car which is listed for $7700. Car is at the base where he is in Davenport, TAS. The car though will be shipped to wherever you are with the RAAF cargo boat. Davenport has an army base not a RAAF base, so it doesn't make sense to ship a car through RAAF when your suppose to be at a ARMY base??????

The email never addresses you by name as well( big red flag there). Asking for your full name, full address and home phone number.

(scammer could possibly be using your details for another scam trying to rip other people off?)

SHAME ON THESE PATHETIC SCAMMERS!!!!
