Prism called to try and make us convert, very pressured sales tactics, very dishonest approach being loose with the facts on the current account. Anyhow they made the landline deal sound very good. However there are other fees and charges so rather than $50 per month it is $53.31 and charging for handset maintenance when we have our own phone. Not only that even though I said many times that we did not want Internet it had been included which was an additional $50 per month. dealing with Prism has got to be the worst customer service experience that I have ever had. Thankfully I realised in enough time (last day of cooling off period) to get out of the deal, last day being today. I rang and spoke to some one got a reference no. For the conversation, but apparently nothing is definite until I get a call from someone else later.

Also I called my network provider and they assured me they had no link to prism Telecom and they wld not provide me with internet access for 9.95 a month on my current plan, as prism said they would. These crooks r getting access to our home phones and offering great deals which r so illegal it's not funny, but I think the callers r none the wiser and believe the product is legitimate. Don't go there by any means call theach Scamwatch team on 1300 795 995 between 8am to 4pm and let's get it out there before anyone else is stung as badly as I nearly was

Telebyte have harassed daily for months now I recognise the number and normally don't answer however my husband did this time things snowballed from there.....I'm worried now - Think I gave way to much information before calling it quits should've trusted my instincts much earlier than I did - they have my name D.O.B address phone numbers and drivers licence number - quite scared Anyone know if there is something I should do or report to someone feel they could now steal my identity and do anything now

You know , if they start talking ABOUT a voice recording, they may be trying to get the script basically in order, so they can the try to edit the sound recording, to get it to sound smooth, to submit to Austalia , to slam you to them.

basically if they they ask things like "Do you agree ? " then do not say "Yes".
Or better hang up, because they are going to edit that, and say "your phone number is X, do you agree ? "Yes. "This is a contract to move your phone service to One Dial, do you agree ? "."yes".
You would be best to not let them try such a technique.

Try not to say your name and address and phone number in your voice, as the scrutineer of the voice recording would be assessing if you said full sentences and genuinely did the voice recording,

I have had these guys calling non-stop. Agressive and rude is an understatement. The other day - half way through a conversation the guy told me the call was being recorded and I told him that if he was really calling from Telstra then he would have told me that at the start of the call. He got very nervous and I hung up. Next time I am going to record their call and see how that goes down.

They called me yesterday and the female ( Christine ) said she represented Telstra and gave me the spin on cheap to non existence of payment for phone calls made locally and I gave her my Medicare No. As well as my pension No. I couldn't believe my luck! After an hour or so, she handed me over to this Male ( Chris ) who was talking so quickly, told him to slow down and he then said that I needed to repeat after him, A pledge to honour this contract. I said I've already done this!! And then it clicked! I asked him if he was with Telstra and he said no, but carried on in an angry manner and I realised then, that they were setting me up. I turned on him and said his colleague "LIED" about Telstra and he was a nasty too, then I hung up. I rang Telstra and they confirmed that they had nothing to do with Telebyte. I have to call Telstra again to block their Calls, because my phone hasn't stopped ringing since 2pm yesterday and the latest call was 9pm tonight. Don't know how they new my name and phone number. It wasn't a random call... It was planned!

Haha, I've literally just got off the phone to these arseholes again.

He asks me why I changed my mind through the verification process, I told him "I'm not happy about repeating after you a verbal verification script that is also been recorded"

After a few more minutes of been spoken over and argued with I tell him they aren't doing a very professional job by arguing with who they want as a potential customer, he continues to argue. I finish the conversation with..."hey mate, you are the business trying to recruit me as a client, I'm telling you what I don't like so maybe you should take it on board and respect my opinion", he hung up lol.

The company that is calling you is "The Trustee for Just Telco Group Trust" web site http://www.justtelco.com.au/

They go under different company names Tele Byte, Just Telco, Onedial, Prism Telecom, Telko Choice.

They try and scam people into believing that they work on behalf of Telstra which is illegal by the way.

They have a mail box in Victoria but their call centre sounds like its in a second world country.

Have been called numerous times dayily by this company since Nobember 2014. It is now Feb 2015! I'm so angry as they won't leave me alone! They have been told by me that Telstra provides my services and that I want it to remain this way. Yet Telebyte are insistent that Telstra has Requested there services therefore forwarded me on as a customer. What worries me is how did they get my information in the first place? Apparently Telstra know nothing in regards to these horrid pains in the bum, nasty callers from Telebyte!

Do not call investigation told me the number was a voip number and not traceable. However someone on Crowd support has identified it as Prism http://crowdsupport.telstra.com.au/t5/Home-Phones-Services/Scam-Call-(03) 8644 2948/td-p/353133

Today I had another series of calls, this time the number showed as Private (they are getting smarter) and the caller identified himself as calling from Prism.

Thanks to Telstra. I phoned 1800 805 996 and they have blocked (03) 8644 2948. The only downside is that international incoming calls are blocked as well. However, it is worth it and they have advised me they will send info with instructions how to allow international calls if needed.
