On a Sunday, on the Do Not Call register... illegal, inconsiderate... what can be done?

Caller: Monash Social Research centre

Missed call, called them back, asked to be removed from their list (I am on Do Not Call) but they keep calling the following week. Had to block their number to stop their calls

Says they are from Monash University doing market research.

Didn’t answer and left a weird recorded message about police and safety. As I am married to someone who works in the police knew it was a scam as they do

I called back number (03) 8383 4904 reached IVR for Social Research Centre.

I am not sure if they are the Monash Research Centre or Social Research Centre at all. Social Research Centre is owned by Australian National University and has nothing to do with Monash. If they are real, they would have spoken to us instead of hanging up once we answer the phone. Something is definitely wrong with this numbers and associated callers.

Possible scammer, possible Monash uni by other comments.
Claimed to be calling for cancer council, had sms yesterday from 0439 839 513 seeking permission to contact for same subject. This was not answered.
They are not a charity, no matter who they may work for, and misrepresented the same.
I am on the dnc, and any one that calls a registered number is wasting there time. All such calls are scams. They want money, they cold call, they lie about who they are.
I'll report them now it appears they aren't yet another overseas scammer.

Missed call at 8:27pm with no message left. I am on do not call register. Do not intend to return call after reading comments and will be blocking this number.

He said he was doing a survey for university. Firstly asked my age. I said no and hung up. Then he rang back. The cheek! Number now blocked.

Said they r doing research for vic police about how safe my neighbourhood is..am on do not call and also was after 8pm..

4:39pm call, did not answer. Glad I did not after reviewing scam comments.

Calling me at 8 pm and then have the cheek to ask me if I have kids under 12 at home
They should be reported to police
