I called back number (02) 5776 1202 reached IVR for a company called Social Research Center.

They keep calling and keep refusing to answer. I want nothing to do with them and one would have thought that having ignored their calls so many times they would get the message I do not wish to talk to them

They won't stop calling. Even when you tell them "no thanks" they don't listen and keep talking. Three calls and three hang-ups so far tonight. There shouldn't be a limit to numbers you can block on your phone.

When you are signing up for a service or anything, either on line or at the door, in the mall etc (for example the people selling goods etc in shopping malls - gutter guards, roller shutters etc) READ THE FINE PRINT.
In there you will often see this line: "By signing, you also agree to have your name removed from the do not call register"
Why would they do this? Sometimes sellers are paid by companies who don't want you on the do not call register.
Example: I followed a link in a popular retiree's website that was about hearing aid reviews. It asked me for my mobile number (so they could call be back) and some more info.
I was suspicious so I read the fine print ("Terms and Conditions"). Sure enough, there, in the terms and conditions it said: "By signing, you also agree to have your name removed from the do not call register".

They keep calling my mobile. I keep ignoring their calls. I am on the Do Not Call Register, so what they are doing is technically ILLEGAL.
If the calls continue I will be taking action.

had a miss call from the number ‭(02) 5776 1202‬, haven’t called back. i have multiple numbers on my block list that have constantly called me at inappropriate hours.

They called my unlisted mobile. Caller ID shows originating from Tamworth Nsw if you believe that.

How did they get my unlisted mobile?

Don't give up. Won't take no for an answer. Do not Call Register has no meaning to these people.

I didn't answer but they're annoyingly persistent!!

Have been calling 3 different Victoria numbers for the last 2 weeks and I've tried to call back and just get engaged tone every time. This time they tried with this number. Same thing. Continuous calling and when you try call back nothing but engaged tone. They leave a msg with their number too.
