This is legitimate research, and this QLD government website confirms that calls from this number are legit.

Seem to have had numerous calls (about 8) in the last week even one at 8.45 pm. Something is seriously wrong here.

Repeat calls even after I did not answer the initial text. Did not leave a message.
I do not live in Queensland and am on the "do not call" register. I checked that the caller was legitimate (www.qld.gov.au/fishingsurvey) and sent an complaint email to info @ daf.qld.gov.au .

Apparently some "survey" company calling itself "The Social Research Centre" allegedly calling on behalf of QLD Govt wanting details re fishing in QLD. I received a text earlier today from them saying they would call back later and asking I respond with options 1} for live in Qld 2} don't live in Qld and 3} live in Qld but want to opt out etc. I did not reply to the text hence the call tonight. Other numbers associated with this group are 1800 800 996 and 0488 826 358 from whence the text originated. I suspect this to be some type of scam using what appears to be legitimate numbers. Strongly suggest do not reply. I have blocked all the numbers involved. Coming from Qld it had to be either a dodgy telemarketing company doing some "phishing" or a Clive Palmer political spiel lol.

some survey company we are on a no call list does not seem to matter they call anyway

I called back number (07) 3557 2200 reached IVR for Social Research Centre.
