I've had a number of calls from this number, they leave a message saying they need to confirm my billing address, however I don't have a Telstra account!

Telstra is the worst Tele co in the Australia. Worst service. But we have no choice. Live with it everyone.

Have received several harassing calls saying they from Telstra and want to update Internet! They had wrong home phone number and wrong address, did not give them any information! They did have correct email address and now I have no internet :(

Still a phishing scam. Anyone claiming otherwise on this page is likely to be a scammer. Telstra know more about us than we do.

I have also just received a call from this number (02) 9213 2700. I received a similar call about 3 weeks ago. Why are you calling me at home in my private time and I asked him "How was the weather in Bangalore?". I informed him that after our conversation we had a good trace on the call and that the "internet police" would be involved. Surely Telstra with their IT firepower could get all of this sorted out. It is very disappinting. Smaller telcos are becoming more attractive providers and I hear that they care for and protect their smaller customers much better than Telstra does.

I've received two calls this week from this number this week. When I rang Telstra to confirm (number from their website not the one lest in the voice mail) they told me that there was no outgoing call to my mobile so it is, indeed, a scam. Just remember that if THEY call YOU don't give them any personal information. I've been getting a lot of scam calls lately and my automatic response now is to ring the company by the number listed on their website to confirm. So far they've all been scams.

Phishing attack. I didn't give them a chance to find out what they actually wanted. Either to get into my account or identity theft. Well spoken Indian lady. Beware.

This is in fact a phone scam, not any means of harassment or monopoly from Telstra. This number called my home phone and after I didn't answer, they called my mobile number. I answered and hung up after becoming suspicious, they could not answer my questions properly and hesitated sometimes. I received a text from 0458 829 882 that read, "Msg from Telstra: Confirming new telephone connection at (my address) due on 19/09/15 between 8:00 12:00. Pls call 1800 805 096 between 8am-8pm and quote order number (order number here) to confirm your appointment. Thank you. PLS DO NOT RESPOND BY SMS AS THE REPLY CANNOT BE ACTIONED." A dodgy as text not only because of the way it was worded but also because I didn't ask for a new telephone connection. I chatted to Telstra and when Telstra tried to call the number that texted me, it said the number is disconnected. 1800 805 096 is from Telstra indeed, it is the Appointment Department for homephone and home internet. It appears that they've used this to pass off this scam as legitimate. I have no idea how they received all my personal contact details but do not trust this number if they call you.
