I was concerned when reading the reviews as I had disclosed my date of birth. So annoyed I did,I had let my guard down in the moment . I went straight to Telstra store at my local shopping centre concerned about my disclosure and security of my number. I did not want to be a victim of teleporting and scammers accessing my accounts.

I can confirm that TELSTRA STORE confirmed it was them and that case notes were taken and recorded on my file. Feeling very relieved but learnt a very valuable lesson. Dont share personal information with anyone. It turned out OK but may not have if t had been a scam.

This is clearly a scam, they may be using what appears to be a legitimate Telstra number but you can't ring them back.. Fruadsters.. As for people telling others to chill out you should get a life, have you ever been scammed, I think not.. We get so many scam calls these days we just don't know who to believe.. Be careful out there people, all they want are your details so they can scam you later..

Possible Scam through Telstra. Had a Telstra tech here earlier today, why would they now need to confirm my address.. Sounds like scam to me.. A friend recently referred by Telstra tech to a so called computer tech who then proceeded to place a trojan virus on his computer.. Telstra should be investigating this as I believe my friend has reported it to Telstra.. Watch out for these calls and where Telstra techs are pointing you to for help..

Received a call from this number on 24 July 2020. Claimed to be from Telstra calling with a problem about my phone number. Told him I don't have a Telstra account (which I don't) and hung up. To me, this is a scam

Telstra section calling about a NBN appointment. To advise about an upcoming installation. Cannot call back on this number as it is for outgoing calls only. There is a recorded message when you ring the number advising you to ring the general Telstra number 132200

Legitimate Telstra number. Contacting customers about NBN installations. Outgoing call number only. Does not accept incoming calls. Genuine Telstra answering service answers this call with reference to ring 132200

I was apprehensive about this number after looking at varied responses. It is Telstra as they provide a Telstra 1800 number to call back on.

Caller: Lakshmi/Santal? Telstra

Called and left marshes to say there's an issue with my number ownership quoting 1800 830 020 as a call back number. After first call i called Telstra on known number and they said the case number quoted does not exist, and could not confirm supplied 1800 number as theirs (frustratingly obtuse about it)
Second call quoted name of my ex (except as two individuals instead of first and middle name) and same case and 1800 number .. ignoring.

Absolutely not fraud and definitely Telstra. If you try and ring back it will tell you that Telstra tried to cal you and directs you to their 13 22 00 number. They rang back next day and was my contact in technical department relating to an NBN issue.

The caller was classic scammer. I had just lodged an enquiry on line with Telstra and this call came not a hour later. Telstra has an internal information leak problem and it sstarts with their It and call centres being off shored or staffed by epople with offshore connection set up to scam. They skim the information give it to the scammer collegues and so the whole scam ensues.

I arrived back in Australia a year ago and was bombarded with scams after joining telstra. It didnt stop for 6 months. It got to the point if I didnt know who was calling I didnt even answer the phone!!

Telstra are seriously compromised

Caller: A woman who claimed to be Telstra connection manager Elizabeth called about 5pm regarding my proposed switch to NBN. Told her a technician had came to make connections but equipment was faulty. She promised to speak to NBN an Telstra to came back to check.

She was very apologetic and promised to solve the problem. What I cannot understand is why a big company like Telstra and NBN continue to allow this to happen to their customers.
