This is a Telstra number - it is their technical/technicians department. They've been calling my home phone & mobile regarding a business matter and calling after 8pm!! I'd already confirmed that a tech will be attending our business tomorrow with our Telstra case manager however in typical Telstra incompetence someone else calls to advise that a tech is coming tonight & they need to confirm the address and that they'll be able to access the site!! Are these people really this dumb? Do they not read any notes? In less than 30 mins after confirming a tech for tomorrow someone else calls to confirm coming tonight. There's no-one at our office after 8pm!! Telstra have the monopoly on the market- they own majority of lines but they have become the most disorganised, incompetent not to mention robotic company I've ever had to deal with. Telstra get it together - worst service provider ever!!!

I missed a call from this number on my mobile but received a strangely worded txt from Telstra soon after ("we tried reaching you to confirm the address. However we are unable to reach you. Requested you call us on 132200 and confirm the address.")

Why would Telstra want me to confirm my address when I just received a phone bill from them (I still get snail mail bills) so they know it; my mobile account is linked to my landline phone/internet; and I have resided at this address for over a decade?

I have a rule (pay attention banks as well) - don't phone me and expect ME to confirm to YOU who I am. You phone me I give you nothing - no DOB, no address confirmation, no account name/number. You could be a hoaxing OS criminal gang for all I know. You want something - you send me a letter by mail.

SCAM ALERT!!! This is a SCAM.
He wanted my DOB and full name before telling me anything. I refused and advised I NEVER give my personal details out to any cold callers, regardless of where they are calling from. He told me he would send me an SMS with a phone number and reference number. I told him I wouldn't be calling it unless I can phone Telstra through my normal channels and be directed to their department. I phoned Telstra and they knew nothing of it.

The caller said he was from the Proof of Occupancy Dept, however I've lived here 15 years and made no changes, so proof of occupancy was not viable.

WARNING: Never give your personal details to cold callers. Telstra investigated on my behalf and said this is NOT their number.

Odd in that there's mixed feedback on the legitimacy of the number. I queried Telstra and was told to report the number...

Thank you for your email. My apologies for the delay in responding.

Telstra is aware of the frustration this current NBN scam is causing people.

Telstra and other service providers are working with the Government to combat the ever increasing nuisance of scam calls but unfortunately there is no quick solution to this international problem.

You can report these calls to Scam Watch www.scamwatch.gov.au

100% Telstra. They connected my NBN today, called to make sure it was working. No personal details requested on this call, however Giving full name and DOB is starting privacy for Incomming Telstra calls so people need to chill out. You people all bring drama into your life by being so skeptical of everything.

I just received a call as we are waiting to connect with NBN. It is Telstra he gave me a 1800 # to ring back & a interaction # if I wanted to find out anything else. He did ask for my DOB only because my husband wasn't home & I am authorised on the a/c. He was very nice & polite & the call centre is in India that's why you can't call it back without the prefixes. Definitely not scam.

It is a scammer, I found a message on my answering machine saying they were from Telstra and my phone will be disconnected, they gave me a 1800 No. to call back on. I rang Telstra on a known Telstra No. and they said they haven't tried to contact me and my account was fine. They tried again today and I answered, they do sound pretty legit, they said my phone was going to be disconnected and asked just to verify my account they needed my details. I gave them false information and they thanked me saying yes that's correct, then wanted more information.I hung up. WARNING IT IS SCAMMERS.

Caller: Telstra technical.

Telstra NBN tech department. Seems legit. Not sure what all the fuss is about. (Are there other callers pretending to be them). They called one day after we had the NBN tech in as per a three month old appointment, and the caller knew we were still not fully connected yet and was able to advise what is still required. I had to give my date of birth, but have never dealt with a telecom company that didn't require at least that.

Definitely Telstra. Not a scam. Some people who have commented on here need to check their prejudice.

This is a spam /scam NBN call. The phone account isn't in my name and we have already made NBN arrangements with Telstra. They rang my mobile. Now blocked

From the information I can see on this page it appears this is a Telstra number. Tried to call it to confirm but it rings then drops out.

So they phone me again as they did nearly a year ago. Same deal - phone me after 8pm on mobile (which I didn't answer because I was busy), then on my landline which I also didn't answer. Left no message either time. Then txted me "confirm current physical address" and then a message to call them back with strange grammar and syntax.

Telstra can email me or send a letter but I've had someone else fishing for my ID information so I'm not dealing with these calls.
