This number was used by a nice representative from Telstra who was calling me back, after we had spoken previously for technical support, to follow up on questions and help me with services. So, though the number is not available to call back, this case wasn't a scam or telemarketing call. Scanners are giving out this number but not calling from this number. I had a complaint lodged with telstra and was phoned by this number. My complaint was dealt with and my relates account was fixed. Just because scanners quote a legitimate telstra number does not mean that's where they are calling from. If telstra tell you it's not one of theirs, they're wrong. It's the complaints and complex issues dept. Definitely scammers. Indian lady named 'Sandra' who said she was from Telstra and that there were hackers accessing our internet connection. We're not with Telstra. I tried to explain this and she became quite rude. I was told by Telstra that this is not a Telstra number. Interesting how so many above comments have said it is legit? If they start saying that your internet connection has been compromised by hackers - then it is a scam. Do not give them any information, and do not answer any of their questions. Just say Goodbye and hang up.
This is a Telstra number with a recorded message if you call it. It is not the number scammers call from, but it is used by Scammers to legitermise their call.
I was called also text by this No re tech issue complaints to Telstra - funny thing was I have never ever lodge any tech issue complaint with Telstra......it is my work phone.....so I decided to block this No. Got a call from this number in relation to a support call I logged with Telstra, not sure why some comments suggest it's scammers. This is telstra support. Not spam or scam artists. I was called by a call centre staff member (someone called 'Andy') representing Telstra from the phone number (03) 9107 5000 on 14.11.16. They had received my recent request for spray paint graffiti to be removed from the sides of an on street public pay phone box. They called from this phone number to advise me they have arranged for the request to be attended to and the graffiti removed, expected within the next month. They didn't want any info from me except where the public pay phone box / booth is with the graffiti on. This all seemed legit in response to my concerns. telstra level 3 technical support Probably a scam said" if you're Telstra you have my details so send me an email" I called back number (03) 9107 5000 reached IVR or a company called Telstra. Telstra calling back about a technical problem being resolved. Firstly. anyone can get a legitimate phone number to pass off as being honest. People, wake up. I have a friend who was with DoDo, not telstra. But because the number "Sandra" supplied as a real number, my friend followed all the instructions to "fix" her "compromised" internet. So what happened next was gobsmacking. She almost immediately lost a lot of money from her bank account. One of the "tests" was to log onto her most secure internet site. She suggested that her bank was the most secure. Little did my friend know that this woman now had access to ALL of the information about her, her family, her friends and since she was logged into her internet bank account, that was also available to these lousy scammers. Wake up people. If you dont use telstra, then why would they be calling you about your internet. If in doubt, the slightest doubt. Hang up and call your internet provider. It is Telstra..2/8/17 call from this number and can confirm it is Telstra... Scammers. Also avoid (03) 9018 5643. I received a call from Telstra at home, indicating that our internet connection had been compromised and that there had been a security breach. We recently changed over to Telstra and had all manner of issues with the connection so I initially thought that this call was legitimate.
I asked that they provide me with some evidence that I was speaking to Telstra and they gave me a number to call "Technical Centre". They didn't pick up and called me back. I hung up since I checked the comments here, but I must say that they were pretty good. They called me 2 times after that. This scam is apparently widespread.
Received call just before 6pm on 7 Jul 2017 (NSW Australia) - fave time for scammers as we sit down to the news. she said she was from telstra phoning about microsoft software. i said 'no you are not. you are lying to me. give me your number and i will report you to the police.' Haha so this naive indian-sounding woman gave me the number above. duh. i am on the do-not-call-me-list so this is illegal. i know it is not telstra because i dont have a telstra account. so some ppl above are misguided! This is definitely Telstra and it is very disappointing that others have said that it's a scam - it's not!!!! They kindly phoned me back as I had made a complaint about them. I was on hold to telstra and I accidentally hung up. The rep called me back using this number. Was fantastic. Meant I didn't have to go through the initial crap with press 1 for blah blah Please do not call me. I am on the do not call register.
