Legitimate Telstra support number. We were trying to sort out an issue with the landline, so Telstra called my mobile using this number. This allowed us to communicate while they tried to do test calls to the landline phone.

It appears that the (03) 9107 5000 number is a GENUINE Telstra number used legitimately by Telstra, but the people giving it out are NOT. I kept getting numerous calls on both my mobile and landline from (03) 5623 1548, which (when Googled) had a myriad of complaints. They are trying to get you to sit down in front of your computer and go through procedures to "fix" your computer. They told me to ring back on 03 910 75000 while they held the line to "verify" the call. I checked with Telstra directly.

I wrote to them, and asked them to check. ...

Hi. I've been getting NUMEROUS phone calls from (03) 5623 1548, both on my Telstra mobile and Telstra landline claiming to be from Telstra Melbourne saying that there is a problem with my internet (due to something to do with interference from overseas.) I'm asked to turn on my computer so that they can help me through the problem. They told me I could ring them back on (03) 9107 5000 to check the validity of their call. They told me that once I had logged on to my computer, they would give me a special validation number that only I and they could know. Is this a scam?

Their reply ...

If that is the case, then that is not a legit call from Telstra as it does not have any recorded notation in the account, that is just a scam call, please do not provide them any of your personal information when you receive the call again as they can use it in some fraudulent activities, please also do not give them any of your access to online account, they are not a legit call from Telstra. I had also make a report on this so it will be addressed accordingly, for the mean time just do not answer the call if the call is from the same number. I have checked and confirmed that it is not a legit call from Telstra and advised you what you need to do.

A scam. They quote this number (which is legit) but the person on the phone about a supposed Telstra internet issue is NOT legit.

Caller: A "lady" with a distinctive Indian accent called "Rose Wilson"!!!!

She told that she was from Telstra's technical department and that my internet was compromised from overseas hackers. I immediately told her where to go and hang up. She called straight back and asked me why I hang up. She said she was legitimate. I requested that she tells me my date of birth, my Telstra account number, mobile phone no etc. All she could come up was my name, address and home phone no.

I asked for proof. She gave me the above telephone no (03) 9107 5000) and her employee no (D321 458). She also provided an IP address. The first 6 digits of the IP address are correct. However, the the last 3 digits are not. None of my equipment have these numbers. Obviously a scam.

Their audacity is unbelievable!!!

This is a difficult one. I am trying to fix an issue with a friend's Telstra phone acc, so visited the Telstra Shop and after trying to sort it out they gave me a case num and an 1800 number to call. When Telstra phone me back CND says call is from (03) 9107 5000. This dept in the Philippines works 9am-5pm AEST. Then today I get a call from same num at 7.30pm but this one was from the'Telstra technical dept' and was clearly a scam. These calls came to my landline phone - which is through OPTUS cable. Don't have Telstra connected to my ppty. Figure that out??

Caller: "Alisa"

Alleged problem with my internet (there is no problem). I asked for her full name and staff ID. She repeated "Alisa" and gave the number (03) 9107 5000. She didn't seem to know what a staff ID was. Gave her an earful and hung up. It is a Telstra number, but it is being spoofed. Two other phone calls today on my message machine were from spoofed numbers. No message was left. Both numbers were legit and neither had any idea who we were.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Telstra. Said her name was Dara Watson refD219211 with an Indian accent. She said that my internet connection was being hacked and I needed to go in front of the computer and press some buttons for her. I asked for her number and she gave me (03) 9107 5000. I asked where she was ringing from and she said Melbourne. When I asked too many questions she put me on to her supervisor named Eva Wilson also with an Indian accent. I told them I believed they were hackers and when I googled the number i told her it came up with 62 complaints. She quickly hung up on me!!! Obviously from the above posts they use the same surnames. Definitely hackers, stay away. Those who say they are legit makes me wonder if it is the hackers themselves posting those posts......

Someone called me at 5.15 am - missed the call - not a friend of mine - you don't call anyone at that time of the morning unless you are a nuisance caller. I have blocked the number

Caller: Rose Wilson saying she was from Telstra

I was called and advised that my computer had been hacked and that they needed access. I'm not with Telstra so was suspicious as to why my actual service provider had not contacted me. They wanted access to my PC which I refused and I asked for her name which she told me was Rose Wilson and when I said I could not understand her she put on her supervisor Daisy. I asked if I could call back and they gave me this number which is linked to Telstra but the call centre was closed? I ran a search on the phone number they gave me and saw all these other comments. It seemed quite odd to me that they would ring at 9pm at night and not offer much information or ask for the actual account holder. I'd say this is a scam - beware.

I logged a complaint with Telstra by email on Tuesday 24th April 2017 re our landline being out of order. I received a call on my mobile from 1800 number which I missed. Then today I had a call from this (03) 9107 5000 re my landline complaint. As a precaution I checked the number on this site and it looks like various legit calls or scammers. I can tell you I called the 03 and 1800 number and both are definitely Telstra numbers from the female recorded message voice I have encountered previously. as for the 132200 Telstra number, this is usually an overseas call centre who I have found to have no idea what the customer is saying or complaining about
