This is a legitimate Telstra number. Definitely NOT a scam. I, like a lot of people, was undecided. I had occasion to contact Telstra myself. I got them to look up their internal directory. If you still have any doubt, I would suggest you do as I have done. Get secret questions (with answers only you know) put on your account and insist the caller asks you on all calls. I've had some very interesting comments from some scammers, when I confront them with my request. Anyway, deal with this number in confidence. Rose Wilson Telstra ID No. 145800 is a scammer said my internet was hacked and to open up the computer so she could have access - do not respond - report her n her phone no. Yes, same dodgey caller referring to a hacker, and saying she was based in some Melbourne office, but clearly a hoax. I had the same caller today, but I will not be calling her back. Not a scam. This is Telstra trying to respond to a complaint I made. Telstra returning call re: compliant. Not a scammer. Definitely scam - have checked with Telstra tpday and they say it's not their number.
Do not give out personal details or allow them to access your computer.
Yep they rung me with the same bullsh*t line that she was a representative of Telstra. I said I don't believe you. I asked for her name and id number she told me her name was Rose WILSON, even though she had an almost impossible accent of Indian origin that I could just understand. She told me her id number was D145800 at 242 Exhibition St Melbourne 3000. The number she rang me on was (03) 9107 5000 SCAM SCAM SCAM KEEP AWAY. They call everyday and insist on having the computer checked because of hackers. Indian accent, lots of noise in the background. Best action- Blow a whistle into the phone. This is a scam. they phoned to tell me i had hackers on my internet and wanted to run my computer! Total Scam hang up i missed a call from this number and phoned it back, call went straight to message stating it is Telstra service centre calling to follow up on complaint I had made and they would try again. this is legit. as I was expecting a call, however no message was left on my messagebank. Not a scam - just Telstra calling back to check everything is working after we experienced line outage. This a scam they asked about my internet connection They keep calling from (03) 9107 5000 to tell me our IP Address has been hacked. I rang back ( blocking my number) and they keep calling. I threatened to call the police but they still keep calling, taken phone off the hook now as it's nearly 9pm All I can say is beware. Some fool hearted jerk left a message yesterday on my mobile and called me twice today when I as on my landline on another call. Beware I just received a call 5 minutes ago from the "Telstra Technical Department" stating that someone had obtained my IP address. I said that my service provider was not with Telstra and the representative replied that my service provider rents the line from Telstra. I asked her for Telstra's number and her name and that I would call 9107 5000, the number she supplie. She said she would stay on the line and asked me to use my mobile to call the number. Super dodgy. I hung up straight away! I called this number back and it seemed like a legitimate Telstra recorded message (mature Australian female voice) re my recent complaint. It said they may try to call me again, but meanwhile call 132200 if I have any other issues. this is a scammers number. Telstra verified that it is not their number. Its some Indian call centre telling you they from Telstra tech support when in fact they are trying to scam you. Have been rung quite a few times over the past couple of weeks. Always Indian people on phone advising that hackers are accessing our computer whenever we are doing on line activities and asking us to log onto the computer and they will show us how to fix it. I have refused each time. We are not even with Telstra for a start! Plus, she didn't even know my name.
Lady today Sarah John, gave me a Telstra number (03) 9107 5000. it is a Telstra number but I rang Telstra's 13 22 00 number to confirm and they have advised that these people are scammers and that they will access your computer to obtain your details.
Telstra Tech support calling back in regards to a fault lodged in a business line. No issues with this being a scam or telemarketing number. It was a legitimate call back for me.
