Yes it is Telstra's complaint service....took days of trying all the different ways to get through to complaints and once I managed to get to the Australian complaints service the Phillipines started calling non-stop....clearly because they know that I manage to make contact with an Australian complaints customer service employee.. Nine days of trying to get through to complaints in Phillipines..they just kept saying they could not transfer me and sending me in circles. Hopeless service in the Phillipines

How does Steve know it's not a scam, is he part of the scam, one wonders why we have to have someone from overseas in order to have Telstra fix something that belongs in Australia, I think too many greesy hand shakes going on.

I rang Telstra 132200 twice: Each time they were unable to understand my explanations: "HUNG-UP!!", displaying (02) 8291 1100.

I have being wrongly Charged for Extra 1GB Usage @ $10 x 2= $20.

Before receiving these charges had accepted Telstra Online Promotion:
5GB for $5, 8 in-addition Advanced Paid Account $58.83 but $60, my Standard payment.
Went through 4 Years of He'll with Telstra, both Technically, Service and Billing: eventually Via Federal Government Minister/Manager was corrected as per MY Documented Proof, as too my Remedy!!.

Well so I thought, next 9 months had to keep re-contacting Manager, who was just as Frustrated as I was. Because Telstra just Kept change My Agreed too New Plan/Costs; Actioned Drop of a hat and "NO Explanations!!".

Standard Outside Customer Service:
Only know what they can see and read in front of them.
Parrot can Read/Understand better.
But "DOESN'T TELL CORRECT STORY!!!"
Explanations: Forget "IT!!".
Answers and Resolutions "Definitely Forget!!".

Telecommunication in Country WA bad at best of time's with No Real Option.
My Opinion they use this to to Hidebehind substandard Services Provision.
I'll still fight for MY $20; Disability Pensioner

C'mon. Half the comments here say the number is a scam - the other half say it's genuine. If there is this confusion, then why doesn't Telstra send out an email announcing they will call you at a certain time/day: after all, they are not afraid to email when sending out a bill or info on something they want to sell you.

This number was displayed when I was called, in response to a complaint that I had recently lodged, by the call centre in the Philippines that handles complaints on behalf of Telstra. On this occasion, it was a legitimate call. However, scammers will no doubt learn of this number and spoof it to make their own calls appear to be legitimately from Telstra – so caution should still be exercised. Possibly red flags are: excessive asking for personal details (date-of-birth is the big one, because that can't be found in the telephone directory); Indian accents or substandard English; overly casual or abrupt manner (I've always found Telstra's Filipino operators to be very pleasant and polite); and requests to connect to your computer or smartphone to fix a problem are an absolute NO-NO.

Not with Telstra and did not make any complaints for them to follow up. Asked for my date of birth and details. Asked them to close the ticket and did not provide my info.

This was a nuisance call, purporting to be from Amazon and wanting to charge me $39.99. I do not use Amazon as I have heard too many bad reports about it.

Caller: For many times, they ran one time, and gone. I called many times back, always with answer machine, But this is definately a Telstra service number because one time a Lady claimed to be from Telstra called me on this number.

The service of Telstra has become so bad now days! it seems that they are afraid to speak to customers. Usually my phone rings for one time and disappeared. It is even more difficult to lodge a complaint with Telstra. Instead of using the normal email or phone like that in the past, they provide a message number, and ask people to leave a message so that Telstra can arrange for their people to call back, which very very rare!!! I have one complaint after many one hour also sessions with Telstra, for nothing, finally got one, but no response or follow up for many weeks! What a terrible company Telstra had turned to be in the recently 2 - 3 years! Shame!

Received a call from this number on my mobile phone claiming to be my case manager for a complaint I have lodged about not being able to obtain a unlock code for my mobile phone which works (after 3 failures) so I can transfer to a new provider. Asked me for the IMEI number of the phone which I said I had already give them 5 times but to hold on and I would go to my office to get the number. I also asked for the another unlock code that works but she said she could not give it to me but would transfer me to the unlock team who can give me the code. I was then transferred to another person (supposed to be the unlock team) who started to ask me questions which included what was my account number so I asked which department I was talking to and was told it was Residential Billing so I asked why had I been transferred to billing when I was supposed to have been transferred to the unlock team. By this time I have had enough fun for the night and when I asked why they were calling me on my mobile number which is blocked by Telstra and the reason I need an unlock code they hung up on me. NOTE I was only able to answer the call because I have had to purchase a new phone so that my new service providers sim card will work and suspected it was a scam call from the beginning because a genuine call from Telstra would not show a caller id

Left voice message. Impossible to understand other than the word telstra due to heavy accent.

Yes, I too was called from this number. No message, could be anyone. DO NOT GIVE YOUR DETAILS TO ANON. CALLER AND DO NOT GIVE THEM ACCESS TO YOUR COMPUTER. However, just by verbally refusing them will not stop them from this access.

A little hint for anyone who is sick of trying to understand over seas call centres from stupid Telstra.... when the automated voice asks what is your call about, say "disconnections" or "moving home" and you will go through to an Australian call centre. (I was told this by a Telstra person, and it works, I do it all the time now)!

I found my way to this page after looking up this number since I found 4 unanswered calls on my mobile 2 days in a row. I also found a page on the Telstra Crowdsupport website which states that this number is not anywhere on their system, so it is NOT Telstra!
And guess what??? This number is STILL operating now, 3 yrs later among the 2020 pandemic crisis and all. Glad I missed the calls. FK OFF U FKN SCAMMING KNTS!

Caller: Telstra Technical Support

Have had 3 simultaneous calls from this number. One on land-line, One on mobile, and another one on mobile while talking to the first one on mobile. 2 calls went to messages and callers identified themselves as from Telstra Technical and left a 1800 number to call back on. Over zealous, if anything, but I dealt with very competent people who fixed an internet drop-out problem I reported the previous day. All calls came in at about 9am and the staff were very courteous. On the previous day, the technical advisor I called on Telstra's 13 number said I would receive a call at 9am, and that's exactly what happened.
