I called back number (02) 8291 1000 reached IVR of telstra Telstra!!! 11pm A call from the phillipines call centre, unfortunately the dont realise our time zone is different. The result of shipping jobs off shore... Rang them on my friends home phone number regarding my Father's home number being cut off during their 1 month stuff up of NBN being connected through Telstra. Such a mess. 21 calls later at one hour plus phone calls to them and me giving my mobile number as the landline wasnt mine they ring consistingly on my friends landline to contact me but we looked up the number and it was listed here. Telstra and their NBN are a absolute discrace. Overseas customer service DOES NOT WORK. it has been tbe WORST EXPERIENCE. SHAME SHAME SHAME This is undoubtedly a Telstra number. The problem in my case is different from the others. I've been waiting for ten days for the resolution of a problem, but the level of incompetence of the Telstra system is so bad that I've yet to have a conversation with the right specialist. The only people I've spoken to can't help and refer me into elsewhere where connections are never made. I think a scam would provide a better experience than this I received 2 calls from this number and was told they were from technical support Telstra... Wanted me to give them access to my computer to fix "internet errors"... I told them to FO... I phoned Telstra and they said I was not contacted from their Technical Support Team and should NEVER ALLOW ANYONE TO GET ACCESS. They will not call the client for technical issues... The client will call Telstra!!!!!!!!!!!!! BE AWARE this is an Australian so why are we having to talk to someone in the Philippines or Indonesia.
It's not a scam!!! Called to say they were upgrading my download allowance, but wanted to verify my details with name and DOB. Sorry but you called me and I dont know who you are. Why do you need those details just to tell me that. She said they would send an email. WTF So why did you call me? I gt 2 calls this morning but no message left on machine no ideas what its about This number rang me at 3.30 am, missed the call and they did not leave a message, they ring at least once a day but never say anything or leave messages, but 3.30am is ridiculous. Caller: Telstra - Phillipines?
Telstra (Phillipino accented female) calling to advise that an NBN technician had restored service to my premises, which he had indeed done the previous day.
I'm thinking that this is an outsourced contractor for Telstra based in the Phillipines which is why the Telstra people in Australia are saying that they have no record of the number coming from them.
According to Telstra Crowdsupport - their staff rep has clearly stated that this number is definitely not a Telstra number, and they advise great caution in dealing with whoever is calling from this number. Don't give them any personal info, or access to your computer - under any circumstances. Female Indian's accent was too thick and male friend assisted. I was to surrender my computer control to them. all ok this was really Telstra Yes it is Telstra's complaint service....took days of trying all the different ways to get through to complaints and once I managed to get to the Australian complaints service the Phillipines started calling non-stop....clearly because they know that I manage to make contact with an Australian complaints customer service employee.. Nine days of trying to get through to complaints in Phillipines..they just kept saying they could not transfer me and sending me in circles. Hopeless service in the Phillipines Yes, it was Telstra. They called me at 1230am. Its not incompetence, they actually train this apparent incompetence into their call centre operators. Its deliberate misinformation, misdirection and pretending to loose background on issues so they dont have to resolve them. This applies to any issues where they owe you money. It is fraud in my opinion. You can resolve it by continually asking to speak to their manager, then they do something constructive. Yes it was from Telstra, we are trying to sort out problems, NBN land line - phone dropping out. - with my Dad's phone - he's 86 and couldn't understand the first women caller, this was a man and he then Dad, problem wasn't fixed but he has another number to ring and a reference code to quote Caller: Telstra
Called in relation to my submission of name change request. It was a Philippines call centre though, but a legitimate call.
