Same idiot phoned us. did anyone actually follow up , what was the scam ...send money , or give me your bank account ???

Yep got a call as well and said to call back (02) 8015 2967 - called the ATO and there was no call made to me so thanks for the scare...

Same scumbag called today left msg ph no to call back (03) 4100 0112

Received call today (message bank) from Kenneth Mattnews (02) 8599 6100 saying he was for the ATO commonwealth Directory of Plublic Prosecutions Canberra (CDPP) and to call him ASAP with regards to tax evasion and a legal case against ATO for tax evasion and tax avoidance.
Sounded like a recorded voice
I thought it was a scam.
I never called back as did Internet search and also so these posts.

I have had fun with this idiot for a few days now . Ringing him with false bank details saying numbers wrong when reading them back .telling him how I am glad I got caught and will repay them if they don't put out an arrest warrant on me . now he wont pick up for me...

i came home from work and had the same msg from Kenneth Mathews left on my ansa machine, tried to phone him, no reply. when i looked up his name in google.. omg. def scam. i let canberra tax know, as he now uses a different phone number.. now its (02) 8310 6976 Hope they catch up with him

Kenneth Mathews / Matthews Call back (02) 8310 6976. He left a message for us re ATO tax evasion and avoidance.
My correspondence comes firstly to my accountant anyway.

tuesday 16/02/16 they are at it again? recieved a call from a kenneth mathews supposedly from cdpp...this is now in Adelaide!!!! not how i wanted to start the day..i just feel bad for people who take this seriously..

Looks like this scam is starting again in 2016. Kevin Jones, then Kevin Shaw, all claimed I had defrauded the ATO and that I had to get $5871 in cash and then ring Kevin Shaw back on (02) 8317 3547 when I had it otherwise I would be arrested within 45 minutes. I rang the Sutherland Police Station and Andrea told me it was a scam but they couldn't do anything with the information. So just thought I would warn as many as I could.

Kenneth Matthews still at it with new phone number (03) 4410 3048. Had my message yesterday. What a horrible man. He had a bit of an Irish accent on my call.

Had same scam from John Matthews on answering machine... call (02) 6152 8611.

I received the same call on answering machine from A Kenneth Matthews and was asked to call or get m solicitor to call straight back on (02) 6152 8677

I too received the call via a message, did some research and then I rang them back.

Not to happy was our man from the sub continent when I gave the names Mr Wal Rus and then I further advised him it could be my boarder who he is after, Mr Li On, who resides near the harbour at Mosman.

Surely a telstra trace would be able to locate these scammers quickly and Police arrest these scum?

Yes. Message on the phone when I got home. Quite threatening advising me of problems with ATO and telling me to contact my "Attorney" I always have one on hand!!. As with the other messages he used the name John Matthews and had an Indian accent. Very pleased I Googled and got this site.

I was too slow to write down the specific name and contact details, but the same legal threat happened to me earlier this afternoon in Perth, WA, although it seemed an Irish twang. Your heart flutters for a bit, but what on earth is the modus operandi ?
