Scam call from the supposed Tax office and legal action. Report or ignore. it is not true.

Claim that they are from the DPP Department of Public Prosecutions representing the ATO about an urgent issue about tax evasion and willful fraud.
DPP when notified say that they are aware of this scam and have told the Federal Police. This is the second time this message has been left, slightly different content, a month apart. I called back and phone does not ring.

I also received two messages, left within five minutes of each other. i work for the ATO and this is definately a scam.

I just had this phone number leave a message on my phone today. They obviously haven't caught them yet.

Got two calls from this number this morning, I was delinquent in my tax, they had sent me documents but I was not home to receive. If I don't pay a warrant will be issued for my arrest.

I called this number and told them I had spoken with Australian Federal Police and Scam Watch, surprisingly they hung up on me.

Same message left 3 times today. It got me worried but friends suggested it was probably a scam. Thank you everyone who has posted before about this.

Received a message saying they are from ato and Doo and there is an outstanding legal action against me and will I or my attorney contact them...not nice I work for an accounting firm and they have no record of this as an ato number or the process that would be used

Yep Yep Yep, Have now had 4 messages left on my answering machine saying the exact same crap.

Same dodgy message - it made my 82 year old mum distraught

Just received a message from this number claiming he is John Matthews from the taxation dept in Canberra same as previous people have stated. Ignore it it is a scam.

Same message from Dept of Public Prosecutions left 2x within 1 hour today. Total scam/fraud. Getting annoying as it rings about the same time each day.

They say they are from the ATO and that I or my attorney should contact them and I am being sued for tax aviation and fraud!
