Female with accent who said she was calling from Telstra, & offering increased broadband data at no extra cost. When a request for personal information was made, I declined to pass that on. I told her that if I wanted any changes I would contact them, rather than responding to a call made to me from someone who could be anyone. The phone number that came up on my screen was (08) 6228 4049

Rang to tell me “good news” about increase to broadband plan and proceeded to solicit confidential information. When I refused, they said the would forward my documented email address, but not surprisingly, no email was received.

I dont know why people keep saying this is a scam, its legitimate Telstra.
If you are unsure ask for there employee id, it will start with a D. Then you can call them up your self, and confirm there id. I work for the number, I am a Telstra employee

I think it may be a scam about Telstra broadband. Their intent seems to be to prepare you for an email from Telstra. You then get a fake email with a link allowing you to claim back on a bill you over payed. If you click on that link you then get asked to give your bank details, passwords and maximum Draw limit before the will send you the money. As usual people calling from Telstra are not from Telstra.

This is not a Telstra legitimate or sanctioned call. Telstra will not contact you by phone for this purpose. They will never ask you for personal details or payment over the phone this is scam.. If Telstra is going to contact you they will do so by your nominated contact email or direct post.

I had this number calling at least twice a day for the past week. Finally called it back and it was a recorded message from Telstra in regards to my transition to NBN. It is not a scam, completely legitimate, just annoying.

My daughter (13) has had two missed calls from this number (08) 6228 4049). If this is legitimately Telstra why would I not get the call? I’m the primary account holder. I rate this a scam and will lodge it with Scamwatch. I urge everyone else to do the same.
