Caller: SMS on my mobile supposedly from PayPal saying that at 10:40 today there was unusual activity on from Nigeria on my PayPal account and to ring 1800 411 688 which l did. Spoke to an lndian guy who said he was based in Sydney and he requested my email address and even sent me a code from PayPal to confirm that he was real. Very hard to understand him and when l informed him that l didn’t have a PayPal account things changed and after a brief discussion the call was terminated at his end. He sent the code from 0485 872 975. I have googled searched both phone numbers and it’s a scam for sure Scam from someone from PayPal

Supposedly from PayPal with OTC. Never received one of these from them, so treating it as suspect.

I have a PayPal account and received a text message from this number. Funny thing is it was send to my work mobile which is not on record with PayPal. It looks legit, but it is a scam, even if there is no link. The OTC if you used it would probably have given them access to your account. Be careful. Yes there was a notification in my inbox on my account and I dealt with it. Sorry scammers not this time!

Paypal one time verification. Never received one of these out of the blue before. Definitely seems like a scam as it was unsolicited.

Caller: PayPal I agree with Anonymous 10/01/22. "Easy to check if legit, just log onto your paypal acct. Instructed that additional details were required on my acct. Logged onto paypal and there was indeed a notification to update some of my details. I believe this is a legit paypal notification, however I wouldn't ever supply details via txt." I DO NOT believe this is a scam or phishing. People saying that it is seem to be just assuming that is. I logged in to my PayPal via 2 part verification and there WAS a notification confirming txt message. Followed links and it only asked me to confirm date of birth. Then it was all ok. So, I'd suggest only logging in directly to PayPal via the web site, check for notifications on your "Account" page to confirm txt. But if you don't trust it, fare enough. Your choice. I don't know what happens if you ignore the request.
