PayPal confirmation code for secure log in.

Most of the comments on this page concern text messages received from PayPal. In my case I was charged for an SMS call made to PayPal, which I definitely did not send. I deal with PayPal when I buy anything from eBay but have not bought anything for a while now. Has anybody else experienced this? How could it have happened?

I definitely did not call this number yesterday and it is listed as PayPal. Yet it appears on my account as an SMS and I have been charged 29 cents. How can this happen?

It is paypal, i got a message saying if you have authorised this transaction then reply 1 otherwise reply 2. Didnt wanna respond so i called them up and they said it’s from them. Sometimes if you do something out of the usual they might send you a text like that (for example, you always purchase low prices items and suddenly you purchase an expensive items, or if you always pay well-known retailers and suddenly you send your money to a private seller)

Just received the same message three times at the same time with the same time stamp!

Paypal Your security code is XXXXXX. Your code expires in 10 minutes. Please don't reply.

And there was a different six digit number each time - the number appears to be a link which I'm not accessing. A definite scam.

This is not spam. This is paypal sending verification code.

This number definitely suspect. 3 Verification codes in rapid succession that no human could manually generate from Paypal through normal operation. Verified that my account is safe and Paypal said there is not suspect activity related to my account. Something is happening from this number weather it's a real number or a faked number forwarded by some mechanism don't know. Be careful.

I called Paypal to check if this is one of their phone numbers. DEFINITELY NOT they confirmed.

I got a notification when I went on PayPal app saying that I had to verify my number so I said ok and it sent an sms to my number I checked the number and put it in pay pal then it said number confirmed. I then got another text from the number saying to save the number in my phone to be able to view my acc. What do I do. Have I been scammed. Will I loose my money??? 😨

SMS received advising my most recent PayPal transaction is flagged as suspicious. Requested an SMS response '1' or '2' to authorise or unauthorise. Subsequent SMS requested more information. I logged in to my PayPal account and checked their contact number from there, requested a one-off security code which is required and called PayPal directly. They verified my account and confirmed the SMS service exists. They also confirmed my transaction history in detail and authorised the payment for me.

The SMS system is clunky and doesn't function properly which is why it's looks like, walks like and smells like a scam. At this point I'm satisfied it's not, given the layers of verification I went through to speak with them.

Recieved a phone call from a blocked number several times whilst still on the first phone call. Then received a text message from this number saying it was PayPal authoritisation.

This number has sms a PayPal code for the past 6 month so many times the number says disconnected so google and say is scam number.
