Inside job I say too, because I’m like you!
The fact is I don’t even have Telstra anyway.

I just received firstly a text re: my fault, they provided a Ref: No, comes up as thought it is from Telstra in Sydney????

Then I received a call from same number - of course do not answer these, no Voice Mail left either.

Let me remind everyone - Legit Telstra will always advise you to ri ng their 13 22 00 number.
They will always also advise in a text not to ever disclose anything in reply to the text or call as Telstra will never ask you for these details in this way..

Please stay vigilant, do not engage verbally or via text.
Keep reporting them to ScamWatch & take screen shots to add to your Report takes 1 minute to complete.

Call Telstra if you have too as well so they can get it stopped much quicker.

Remember: It’s now end of October as Christmas is fast approaching so the Scammers need your details in order to start using your identities & steal your money!!

Caller with an accent, knew my name, saying they were from Telstra - I was suspicious and although their number was showing on my phone as (02) 9459 8000, I asked them for the number so I could call them. When they hesitated, I told them I knew they were skammers, that I had Police monitoring incoming calls and that I was going to block their number...person (male) sounded angry and hung up.

got sms "Hi from Telstra, we will be calling you in regards to your fault case ?? within the next 5 minutes" and "Hi ?, we have tried to contact you about the connection issue on your NBN Service. Please call 1800 834 273 when you are available. If we do not hear from you within 24 hours, your ticket will be automatically closed"..its a scam!..caller was a female with a indian accent..l played along with the questions, was asked 3 times to troubleshoot my modem, l said 3x's not working no lights, caller says "oh um can you try it again", then l said "oh thats right l dont have a modem"..caller hanged up..

I reported to Telstra through Telstra App re the faulty modem. A guy with an Indian accent rang me that he wants to sort out the modem issue. He know my full name but his facts were not correct. I cut the call. This is a scam number.

Also knew when i placed the order for a faulty modem. But didnt have my original fault number and unlike the Telstra person i originally spoke to, she couldn't text me my reference to monitor its arrival. She also originally said, my order was cancelled. I asked why would that would happen and she said she didnt know! Then to verify me, wait for it, she asks, "have i travelled in the last 30 days!". What an idiot. I said thats none of your business and not a question anyone asks to verify someone. Yes had my address so must be a leak from Telstra some how. As she was apparently re ordering a new modem, i came here to check, so told her this number of hers has been reported as a scam. From then on she knew i wasnt giving her any info and told me it was now all done. These people really have no conscience.

Indian male caller knew my name and address and said my internet (nbn) connection was registering as faulty. I have become very suspicious of cold callers and asked this guy many questions. After stating that my nbn is working fine, he said he knows otherwise and that I know nothing about technology. He tried to overpower me so I hung up on him.

Message left saying they were from Telstra and to phone them back on a 1800 number to discuss a reported fault. We haven’t reported a fault and don’t have a fault. Spoke to Telstra who confirmed phone number was not Telstra and they will never call customers to fix a fault, they always just update the fault via SMS. So number is a SCAM

Received a phone call from a young lady with a thick indian accent claiming from Telstra that knew my name & also knew I had email issues .... I've just hung up as I felt it was very dodgy & had a bad gut feeling, nearly all Indians that call me are just trying to scam you & I feel this case is no different .

Relating to Email issue since 29th June. Ten calls over this period. I cannot understand the indian callers. Asked today if they're calling from India, answer YES. Today told me there would be a charge for what he was offering. I gave him the short shift.
