They are following up, as I forgot to get back in touch with them regarding a technical issue on our phone line.

The call was from Telstra re an NBN problem. Unfortunately the caller had an accent which I found difficult to understand.

Received a call from this number the day after NBN repaired my internet service. Possibly a confirmation call. Remarkable how return calls from Telstra are from the same number as scammers.

Legitimate call from Telstra Level 2 Team, but they are based overseas which is why we all think they are scammers

Caller: Some polite fellow saying he was from Telstra

Called to say I reported internet problem. I asked what internet problem, my issue has been fixed. He knew my name and asked if he was speaking with blah blah and I said 'no' then he asked may he have my full name etc and I said No, I don't know who you are and that there is no issue here. Then he said okay thank you for being with Telstra. From reading other comments sounds very convincing and not to be trusted.

The caller knew my name and details about an NBN connection problem that I was having. He asked me to run a test on my computer and would close my NBN incident if the test was successful. I was concerned because the call was unexpected, his talk was quick and message jumbled. If it was a scam, then this person had access to a secure MyTelstra account. Soon after the call finished, I received a message to say that the incident was closed (which it should be). I later rang (02) 9459 8000 and confirmed that it was Telstra. I think the problem was that the person calling has English as a second language and was not as clear as I might like in putting his message across. I took my time to ask him to repeat his requests, slowly. I was not asked for codes, or DOB, etc. Not a scam. This is Telstra doing their job.

Called land line but no answer, line quiet. Hung up. 10/12/21 1850 hours. I was interestingly on the phone to Telstra to block my caller ID. The call disconnected and then this number rang straight after.

This is the Telstra callback number. If you disconnect from the queue this is the number they call you back on.

I am having an issue with my NBN modem and a technician is booked to come tomorrow. I got a call today from this number and didn't answer it as I didn't know the number. Voice message was a polite person with Asian accent who mentioned my modem issue. So is this legit or a scam? I am not calling back. If a scammer, how did he know about my modem problem. I haven't told anyone else!

Can confirm is accurate as they advised that they were calling regarding a ticket I raised and that I would get a discount from my bill, which actually went through - so legit

It was a legitimate call. Following up on an issue I had, making sure it had been rectified.

Call received on my landline late Monday evening, 8 November 2021 at 8.46pm claiming to be Telstra calling about my NBN line/connection. Difficult to understand introductory message. Despite answering and questioning three times I got the exact same unclear message, word for word, intonation, thick accent and pauses. Sounded like it was an automated message activated by my voice. I hung up. Six minutes later I received an automated text message on my mobile allegedly from Telstra stating 'the internet issues on your NBN service is now fixed. This ticket will now be closed'. If this is a Telstra AI bot, it ain't very intelligent, I'd call it AS for 'Artificial Stupid'. Because nothing has been fixed here. I doubt Telstra or NBN could fix a tea party in a shearing shed let alone a phone line and internet connection service for which they have received billions of dollars government funding. Just as likely this was a scam or phishing, it appeared coordinated, incoherent, and suspiciously internally generated from within one or either of these two organisations, Telstra and/or NBN Co. My numbers are private and not publicly listed anywhere.

don't identify themselves or where they are calling from. Accent is very hard to decipher over a phone line.

I called Telstra Number 132200 after receiving a text message about a fault with my internet / NBN service .
15 minutes on call, gave them details because i did ring telstra number . He COULD NOT answer or even give me any solution or what the problem was from their end .
i had to read my tect message to him, i also gaveore info of other faults and what can they do about it .. All ge kept saying was "Thank you for giving me your information " He had no solution to anything at all not even what the fault was for the trxy message i got sent .
He all my personal details, i did have to confirm all details when he read it out to me as well .
Kids screaming in background ( yes am aware its covid time -work from home deal) but with no solutions to anything i hung up .
Got two phone calls IMMEDIATLEY from from (02) 9459 8000
If i couildnt even get a single solution nor even a test of service from their end then im assuming that its spam .
Checked on here , seems im not the only one to assume this

Telstra have been hacked by Indian scammers. I reported my phone fault and got a sequence number and it may take 7 days before repair. 2 days later I get this Indian guy calling me whose command of english was hopeless. He knew my all my details and modem set up but insisted on requiring my dob before proceeding. I couldn't understand his horrible english so I said goodbye. I then rang back and got a very convincing Telstra Jane Holmes recording saying they will call me back or I could re report it to 132200. I think these scammers have spoofed (02) 9459 8000 together with the Jane Holmes recorded voice. Either way Telstra's Andy Penn has to get on top of this Indian monkey business.
