Caller: Scammer with overseas accent Knew my full name, said from Telstra, asked about my modem and wireless extender numbers. Telstra don’t ask for this, they have it on file. Got very argumentative, a call to Telstra confirmed it was a scam.

Caller: Telstra Business Following up an issue I had with my Internet service. Problem is, they called at 6.45pm and so I don't answer it, even though I'd like to have spoken with them. Why can't they call back during normal business hours?

Caller: Telstra - 5G I am extremely disturbed by this phone call regarding a 5G order which occurred late evening.
I am an absolute privacy nutcase. Every single thing in my life is registered to a PO Box. I use it for account registration and as a billing address. My delivery address is at the Post Office.
I lie about my residential address when it is absolutely not required. My residential address has been removed from the electoral roll, which is a public database.
These people had a specific address that ONLY Telstra use. Imagine you lived at Unit 1, 9 Smith Street and your Telstra bills said "BG 1 G01 Unit 1, 9 Smith Street". I tricked them by innocently asking for them to confirm my address due to 'multiple accounts'.
It must be a leak DIRECTLY from Telstra as my residential address does not come up in that format on utility or state government planning databases, or anywhere else.
Furthermore they offered a fake account number while I was playing dumb.
I would suggest checking your credit reports if you receive a call from this number.

Caller: Telstra Muppet I have been trying to solve a problen with Telstra for Months - message bank problem (keypad prompts which done work) land line. Anyhow this muppet calls back and was indeed polite - but he calls when iam on the road so he arranges to send me a text No for me to respond to when i get back to the office and heres where the fun starts. I respond and send reply - no call back. Rings back next day - 1 ring you probably know the rest. I text back no reply And now this peanut rings at 5.30 in the morning 4 rings and then a text message berating me and whinging that they get no repsonse. Injteresting prior commentry - if indeed it is a scam then somebody has intercepted thier fault call system because it seems to have originated from my enquiry.

I got a text from “Telstra"(spoof) that my one time pass code was...... I messaged Telstra on my app to check because I hadn't tried to access anything. I did open the text, unfortunately, they can tell it is a real number when you do. A lot of spam is sent to randomly generated numbers. The message was different to the usual Telstra one that sends similar messages because it didn't go into the same conversation. But convincing enough for me to check it. Telstra on chat on their app said it was spam. A minute after the spam text this number called me and the smart whatever on my phone later marked it as Telstra. Spoofing again. I did not answer. Telstra said this number is spam too. So really convincing scammers and I hope the people here who spoke to them did not provide any information. I blocked this and the text number. I mean really, how often do Telstra call anyone?

Caller: LOL ... Telstra technical team - I think not Scammer with a little bit of Telstra info - rang to fix my internet fault ( which I had disconnected 9 months ago) despite telling him several times I had no internet connection he wanted me to help him 'troubleshoot' my 'non existent' modem. I kept him on hold for 15 minutes before he asked if he could call me back when he had further technical advise. I am sure if someone opened there modem to him they would be downloading your info in a heart beat ..... scum of the earth..... at least keeping him on hold may have prevented a few others getting called.

Caller: NBN Seems legit nbn call as I received a notification on the Telstra app straight after saying they’re wanting to check if a fault is fixed. It’s not, but I can’t understand much of what the guy in voicemails is saying so I’d rather not deal.

I reported an internet fault to Telstra, I was put through to a woman from the Phillipines, she said someone would call me. The next day I got a call from another woman from the phillipines and the first thing she asked was that I plug the modem cord into my laptop, I found this very suspicious as I have had a couple of previous issues and no one has asked me to do this. I said ring me back later. I rang Telstra and they said it was a scam. I’m sure many people would definitely fall for this especially if you do have a fault. When I rang Telstra I said I will not speak with anyone from overseas. Spoke to an Aussie in Sydney who sorted it all out.

This number called me at 6 in the morning. Any business that thinks I'm going to answer a call this early is nuts. Like many of these comments, I think this is a very poor business decision if indeed this is genuine.

Pretened to be from 'Telstra internet services' to talk about my 5G service. I don't have an account with Telstra. It's a total scam. Sounded like an Indian call centre.
