I had missed numerous calls from this number on a daily basis for weeks. I have just answered the call for them to hang up straight away. Scammers for sure.

Phone rang and I it stopped before I could pick up the phone . Assumed it was a scam. I have been in rouch with Optus this week so presumably it was their contractor as per other posts. Not going to ring them back.

If this is a scam call. They have too much recent information to my actions on the Optus account.
The only explanation is they have access to Optus system in realtime.
They try to convince me to give them information to transfer phone number to my name. I suspect they will use it against sterling my phone number.

Subcontractor of Optus who persist in calling and not leaving voicemail. When I initially contacted Optus, I specifically asked not to be phoned and to be contacted via email. They never take any notice. I don't answer unknown numbers, as I'm sick and t owed of fending of scam calls since being caught up in the Optus data breach.

This is a legit Optus number. I have been having issues with my NBN (pre-cyber attack) and Optus case management just phoned to let me know there is an outage with NBN affecting 36 customers and they will be monitoring my services. I have also just received an SMS to say the above.

This was actually Optus back in 2020 I made a complaint with Optus in regards to the sale of a product to myself . I received a small compensation from them in regards to my complaint. Optus has contacted me letting me know that they are reviewing these case and that I may be entitled to further my compensation for selling me something that I couldn't afford.
This is actually legit so if you have ever made a complaint to Optus they are contacting you through this number you may be entitled to compensation. I actually ignored the first few times that they called but after reading some of the posts in here and realizing that this could be Optus and legitimate I decided to answer and I'm glad I did.

Caller: “Aditi from Optus”

When I got my first call, I was highly suspicious and refused to give my details as I was sure it was not supposed to be an Optus practise if they call me, and they only asked if I called them. However, I got a couple of follow up SMS messages asking me to contact the NBN about a fault at my property, and I was having issues with my internet, then another message saying they would be calling me from this number again. I only realised that it was legitimate because the message to say they would be was actually coming through in my OPTUS SMS feed (is that what it’s called) and that above it on my text messages were many other Optus related things I had done in the past, eg; your 1 time code is… and we are working on your broadband so you may experience some disruption, etc. I finally caved and gave the lady my surname and postcode which was enough for us to sort out the issue. OMG!!! I still say I was right to be suspicious and OPTUS needs to think of a better way for their staff to connect and be able to ask for details, even if they just point out the messages are part of my OPTUS feed so I didn’t have to realise that for myself.

I have an escalated case with optus for a refund and they know about this somehow so I provided my last name and DOB but then the guy asked for verification code but he mentioned my very old phone number so I then chose to receive code via email. Luckily nothing show up in my mailbox and I decided not to privide any further information. Will message optus on the app later to confirm

Caller: Purportedly Optus

Received a call from this number but didn’t answer. I have only just signed up with Optus for internet services in the last fortnight and received my modem and set it up in the last few days. After not answering this call, I received two text messages from the same number that has sent me other messages related to my new Optus service. One SMS asks me to click on a link and confirm my service is up and running. The other confirms my NBN has been set up and contains two links to click on for any future service issues. I won’t be clicking on those links just in case they are spam.

Hey, Optus, when a bunch of people report a number to you as being suspicious, and it’s genuinely one of your numbers, perhaps you want to stop using that number and find a better way to contact customers that doesn’t ask people to provide all their ID information to verify your call to them, particularly in light of all the data breaches you’ve had.

Two unsolicited calls - rang briefly and cut off after a couple of rings. No SMS or voicemail messages left. Typical spam behaviour.

Rang 6:20am Sat. The first call I sent to voicemail, they immediately rang back two more times, on the third call I answered and they hung up after silence. Checked the apparent voicemail from the first call only for it to also be seven seconds of silence.

Claimed to be from Optus. I said I was unavailable could I get an email sent to me? They said they are unable too. I then asked what the call was regarding and they said my online order which I did make and collect 2 weeks prior. I asked for a return call number and they provided me an optus number, but she kept re iterating that she could call me back. Spoke to optus via live chat which advised it is a scam and to report in the optus app or call their scam line.
