The scammer left same message for me, with same application number to quote when I ring them back, haha. This is why we never answer phone calls any more, just let it go to message bank.

It is the same as everybody writes-pretending to be centerlink, giving this number (02) 9099 1773. I called back to tell them what I think of them. What I can tell for sure that the guy who answered was Indian, so must be an Indian scam.

Just received a recorded message from supposedly Centrelink about back payments that I am owed. They said I had not responded to paperwork that was sent to me. They gave me a client number to quote. This is a scam, don't respond

Left voicemail message to ring Centrelink on (02) 9099 1773 and quote reference no. 080456. Very odd, as I don't receive any welfare payments from Centrelink.

I worried the whole weekend about this recorded message then my little brain went into action. Point one I have NEVER had an ' off the cuff' phone call from a government department, point two the mention of money in the form of 'back pay'.made me suspicious. It all reminded me of the time the man from pakistan offered to fix the "veerus" in my windows computer when I told him I wasn't interested he asked me if I wanted to buy" weepons" I asked him what are they he said " you know to fight terrorists" bit scary they are nasty criminals.

What an absolute pack of A H's. Claiming to be from Centrelink and then when I question him get told to shut up and listen. Same reference number as everyone else on this site. Don't fall for this and definitely don't give them any details except maybe where to take a hike

Recorded message from female claiming to be from Centrelink. Message states I have not responded to mailed correspondence etc. Also mentions back payments, pension etc and advises that I need to call Centrelink Office in Canberra. They gave an application number to quote: 080456.
The message does not even give a name that the call is meant for.
I don't receive any pension payments from Centrelink, so I ignored the call.

I telephoned the number and went through about thirty minutes with someone who gave a name and an ID number. When they got to telling me to go to the supermarket or the post office and buy iTune vouchers I know it was a scam. As I had been sitting at my computer at the time I put in a Google search for the telephone number which confirmed my belief that it was a scam so hung up.

I received the robotic male voice telling me to get a criminal lawyer to be in touch with them. I wish a criminal lawyer would take them on! I felt very anxious about this message as I had no idea to what it may have been referring or regarding which member of the household. so glad a friend told me about this service- Reverse information.

Thank goodness for this reverse phone look up. Same message same application number. This is very distressing for the elderly when they receive these calls. Makes me soo furious.

Centre link, previous snail mail had not been replied to by me. to call (02) 9099 1773 quoting 080456 information regarding my pension.
Het then mentioned that I was due backpay from Centrelink of $ 2,480.00 and to receive this money I will have to buy a apple iTunes card for $ 400.00 and to ring him back so that he could activate it, then when I receive the backpay the $ 400.00 would be added to it.
THIS IS WHERE THEY GET THERE MONEY ( THE ITUNES CARD ).

And if anyone wishes to speak to centrelink each city has their own office we can look it up on the pension book we receive or the phone book not the number the scammer gave us.
