Scam. Called from Sydney with a robotic Microsoft type voice, telling me I evaded tax. Ignore it.

Unknown number. Left message, female voice, sounded like realistic automated voice system from supposedly official source (Centrelink). Gave what is apparently a standard account number 080456. Referred to snail mail never recieved. Requested return call to arrange pension payment increase. Will contact Centrelinks' scam reporting line. I find it interesting that I am receiving this scam call at least 7 months, and after 126 complaints listed here this year. You would think that Telstra and the AFP and Centrelink would have managed to trace such an egregious scam to source and at least force them to switch phone numbers. There is some form of grave negligent complicity and governance failure making this whole industry possible. Its like when there is significant property theft and the police send you an email reporting form and make hopeful noises about tracking the stolen goods and then the helpfulness, social support and law enforcement evaporates. So much for the fictions of law and order and tough on crime. Farewell family heirlooms and the farce of the policing of telecommunications. Thanks for leaving your comments!

Very long, automated voice-mail message left, containing veiled threats about failure to return calls, "pensions will not be increased because you haven't contacted us", "your file has been escalated to had office in Canberra", yada, yada.

Still receiving call today 6 July 2018, lengthy message left on my answer machine. Automated ladies voice re pension from Centrelink. Same application number 080456, same contact phone number. As I am not receiving a pension, I knew it was a scam straight away, but makes me really angry that they may get away with it and can scare or trick Pensioners.

Exactly the same story and numbers as described above. Still happening 3 July 2018.
The Asian voice sounds OK at first then becomes robotic - they left a message on the answering machine.

Same info as above......centerlink told me that the scammers are probably purchasing a block of numbers at a time and calling them...….Who is selling these numbers and why isn't this being investigated ??

This is a Voice over Internet Protocol number and the VoIP provider is www.symbionetworks.com and you can check for a numbers VoIP provider here https://www.thenumberingsystem.com.au/#/number-register/search . I suggest we all call Symbio Networks each time we get a scam call from one of their VoIP customers and then maybe Symbio Networks will do something. Symbio Networks number is 1300 789 653. You must realize that Symbio Networks gets paid by the scammers that use their service and this is the reason Symbio Networks appear to be providing a safe haven to scammers.

I just got this call too. Same reference number. I’m not even on any Centrelink payments so I’m finding it annoying but actually I’m pretty disgusted that this scam call is targeting people randomly and some of the people they call are going to panic about this and think their payments are going to stop.
