I checked this site before answering any of the three calls I've received today (starting from before 9am).. I do have a Telstra account but no unpaid bills so yeah, I would agree with the others who have pointed out that the people on here saying it's a legitimate Telstra call are obviously part of the scam themselves. Have blocked the number now.

Called 3 times in 1 day. left 3 voicemails. 1st no message, 2nd voice message, couldn't understand, 3rd said to press 1. I pressed 1 and nothing happened, so reporting as SPAM!

Caller: Roboscammer Robo voice claiming to be from Telstra "with an important message" for me, then asked me to press 1. No, I didn't press 1.
I'm 100% sure that if Telstra had anything so super-urgently important to tell me that they needed to phone me about it, they'd simply tell me, rather than ask me to "press 1".
I'm also 100% sure that, if Telstra called me, they'd be using one of their special five-digit customer service numbers, rather than a regular eight-digit landline number.

Caller: Telstra Absolutely disgusted that Telstra would call one of their customers with an auto call and quote their full name and year of birth. They then ask the customer to enter their day and month to verify their identity.
I does not get any dumber than that!

Caller: Thieves pretending to be from telstra Funny thing. I was on my home phone talking to telstra when I received a call on my prepaid phone by this number saying I owed & needed to give my card details. Also that my computer had been compromised by outside access and to give them my comps details.. & to pay more money to protect it.. I could see the big smiles on telstra’s end when they heard me saying…. A -I don’t have a computer & B- I’m actually on the phone talking to them right now. & C- my accounts in credit.. they hung up fast when I asked for employee identification number & call number. Telstra will never contact you by phone for such details. Iv chosen emails only. All telstra can do is stop the service number if it’s a telstra one. Not if it’s through other phone services & scammers change numbers more than they change underwear!!

I answered this number and it was a recorded message sounding like the Telstra lady voice. She said to please press 1. When I did, the call hung up. So, I'm assuming I'll get another scam call later since they now know that I answered!

this is recorded call from Telstra about bill payment. press 5, which is "I'm not the person responsible for this account" (true), but doesn't stop them from calling 3 times a day.

Why would anyone enter their date of birth into their phone in response to an automated system. If it is Telstra - try servicing your customers one on one with real people who actually speak english. I'm going to Optus.
