Caller: Optus Representative Legitimate call from Optus, they phoned to confirm an Apple Watch plan we were initiating. Anybody who is claiming this number is not legitimate should be placed under citizens arrest.

Caller: Optus - to confirm my request to change mobile number has been done I asked Optus to change my mobile number via chat. The operator called me from this number to confirm that the new number is now up and running. This is not a spam call number, it's legit.

Caller: Optus Representative This is definitely a number from Optus. NOT A SCAM. I was also on a live chat with an Optus representative but the chat got disconnected so they called me using this number. Can confirm that the person that called me with this number stated his name which matched the name from the live chat.

Caller: Verified scam This is a scam number. Contacted Optus to see if they were associated with this number and they said they were not and that an investigation had been launched with the AFP. Do not answer this number. Just block them and move on.

I told him he got the wrong number, im not who i am and i dont use optus - they hung up on me straight away - LOSERS.
IGNORE THESE FAKE CALLERS AND DON'T VERIFY YOUR NAME/DETAILS ON THE PHONE.

Had this call today. Said they were from Optus. Asked for me by name and quoted date of birth day and month. Wanted me to confirm year. I said I wouldn’t give that info over the phone as they called me I said they should already have it. They hung up quickly thereafter.

I have been getting 2-3 missed calls from this number every day for over a week - have not called them back - I just delete straight away. But still they call - do they not get the hint yet? how do they get your number in the first place?

Caller: Optus they called me and asked to verify my last name and date of birth which I did. told me I needed to provide my drivers licence number and employment details as a security check so I could port my number over to them (I did actually do that yesterday) but it sounded a bit dodgy so I asked her why do you need this info if I am just changing my number over from virgin to optus, and you guys are both the same now so you can get that info from them? she said they don't provide that as its personal info etc and they need it for a credit check; so I told her I don't feel comfortable giving her that information and I'm at work so busy etc and said I would call Optus back when I'm free and she seemed to be fine with it. so I'm not sure if its a scam or not..

I have received a call from this number twice now. I refuse to answer although via optus live chat they said it not associated with them. I would be reluctant to hand over any info to this number. If they say they are from Optus, hang up and ring Optus back on their main number to confirm any activity on your account.

Caller: Not an optus number. After reading this thread I jumped onto Optus chat asking about the number and their response was "Please ignore the call as it's not from Optus. If you have any clarifications on this, you can call our direct customer service at 133937".
