Legit call from Optus 2 hours after my online order

Missed a call from this number. They left a message to call back on a 1300 number which went to Optus. Since I was preparing to port my mobile number to Optus, this was an expected call. Yes, to verify your details, they ask you things like address, DOB etc and it seems strange as you would have already provided it to them via their website. But for security purposes they will also send you a one time password to your phone to minimise the chance of someone illegally porting your phone number. I received a valid email from Optus after confirming the status of my order. So, for people saying these are scammers, yes, it is possible, this number might be shared with actual scammers, adding to the confusion. If you are uncomfortable to provide your personal details, then do not do it. Hope this helps.

This number has called me every few days - do not answer it. Have now blocked number

Claims to be calling from Optus. Asks for personal details? when asked why they needed them I was told to finalise my order. I don't have any outstanding orders with Optus.

Have had issue with Optus over a non delivery.
said they would ring back this morning.

As soonas i answered this call, they hung up.

When i called back, it was a genuine Optus number.

I have no idea what is going on.

I received a call from this number claiming to be Optus. I had been waiting on a call from them to confirm an order so didn’t immediately register any concern. I followed up afterwards when my order details didn’t update and was told by the first Optus support person that there was no record of that call and then when I requested further support, I was told by the second person that there was a record and it was a legitimate call. Within a day though, I started receiving verification code type texts from unknown, overseas numbers. So despite Optus assuring me that it was legitimate, I have my doubts and have to wait and see what happens.

Had to ring the fools at optus. The person in maylasia had know idea what she was doing I got quiet cross. She put me through to another person They had to send me emails those emails didn’t work. So went on live chat. Within 20 mins of doing so I had a phone call from the above number and another number. Now stressed reading above comments that my phone or banking may be hacked. As it has been done before. Optus. Your very dodgy

I agree with others here this is a scam posing as optus dont believe it. They are scammers and they probably know you have contacted optus to make complaint. Dont answer it

Everyone that says it’s legit or that it’s Optus are the scammers themselves trying to legitimise this scam number. BEWARE!! Scam Alert!!

Scam!! Said from Optus. Most likely fraud by Optus ex employee or call center as they know about our account being hacked which was just reported. These people can change the details on your account (my phone number was changed into 0434 176 862 by the thief and address into Galston NSW address, 2 days ago into North Kellyville NSW), placed an order using your account (amazingly I was advised the scammers placed the order by phone direct to Optus) and the scammer called to say ignore emails or text messages if we receive any of those in regards to certain orders, saying there is a system error. This happened twice in 3 days! OPTUS, DO SOMETHING!!! WE ALSO GOT MALWARE AFTER CHATTING WITH YOU!!

I had queried and complained to Optus the previous day - then received a call from them at 2:30am

Keeps calling my young daughters number even when I have asked them not to. Will be reporting to police if they continue to call.
Tried ringing back to advise that Optus confims the number is disconnected

Legit call back from Optus . They let you know they are going to ring on live chat when you contact them for tech issues you are having. I had no problem with this number calling me because I knew who it was. It's Optus

Maybe It’s both! What better place to do your scamming from than a call centre.
