Genuine reply from Optus regarding my complaint of spam emails.

Pretended to be Optus, somehow knew about my recent order. I hung up when they started trying to transfer my number and asked for the verification/security code. I messaged Optus through their app and they confirmed it was a scam caller.

Been getting calls from this number for a few days now. I blacklisted the number so hopefully no more

Left a voicemail message stating that it is from Optus calling on my account issues.

My service provider is Telstra and I do not have any Optus account

It's REALLY annoying that there are so many conflicted opinions on here – as I panicked reading them when someone from this number called me and I rudely told them I thought it was a scam and hung up. I ended up hanging up on a girl from Optus who was just doing her job.

I'm not sure why where are so many comments saying it's a scam (perhaps competition? Notice how the people who've been scammed have like 6 word stories? I call bulllsh*t.), I called the number she gave to me and it went to Optus who finished signing me up.

I regret looking at this page as it made me fearful and kinda rude for no reason.

Might be Optus, but too risky to answer.

I rang Optus regarding paying a bill. The Optus guy (a Filipino) took my details, name, date of birth and mobile no and then tried to sell me a mobile package. He called back later using (02) 8049 2850 and when I said my current deal is better, straight away offered me another deal! Sounded like a scammer to me and decided not to take any more calls from 02 8049 2850. What kind of people is Optus hiring?

I received a call from this number just hours after I had changed details on my real Optus account. They seem to have access to Optus data and use it to scam real customers.

It’s a legitimate generic number Optus uses to get in touch with customers. I received a call and voicemail message from the representative I spoke with earlier in the day.
