I've been receiving phone calls from this number everyday for the past week, no voicemail was left. I finally answered today - the caller said she was from Optus and was phoning to offer me deals. She asked a series of questions about my internet/data use. She had my name and date of birth, but my incorrect address. She said asked my current address to update their system, I refused to give it to her and said i would log into my account to update myself if it was incorrect. She then abruptly hung up. Scam for sure!

hi Ben,

All our data is washed by Optus. We call Optus customers only on behalf of Optus. If you wish to no longer receive calls from us please provide your phone number and we can add you to the Optus Opt Out. Alternatively you can visit our website and opt out http://www.ntcvoice.com.au/contact-us/opt-out.aspx

Kind regards,

Tanika Collins

I have just discussed this phone number with Optus Customer Service and they gave me the following information:
"I tried to pull up the account details by that number. We are not able to find any details on that number. It is not any Optus number. If they continue to call please phone the police."

I'm an Optus customer too and am so fed up with this person calling me, hanging up when i answer or when i dont answer it goes to voicemail and no message is left....just the same as everyone else. BLOCKED the number but i wish Optus would do something to stop this person.

Have received three calls so far from this number. The first call I answered and they hung up. The second two calls were on the same day in the space of approximately 2 hrs. No voicemails were left. Will be making a complaint to Optus.

So as I was sending an email to their IVR systems supplier (Noble Systems) asking whether they helped Aus clients integrate with the Do Not Call Register, I received another call from this number. I answered and this time the caller was actually on the line for a change. I mentioned the DNCR and confirmed my number was on it (both the mobile and landline are) and the guy said he'd make a note not to call back. Now it's simply a matter of waiting to see if they stick to that. The timing, however, could not have been more perfect.

Confirmed the same details as Ian and others, then went poking at their website (www.ntcvoice.com.au).

* The domain is registered to a Tanika Collins with this contact email address: tanikacollins @ hotmail.com

* The website indicates they're a customer of Kwik Kopy, so just some generic template driven site.

* The mail records point to another Microsoft service at outlook.com.

* The website is hosted with a small Melbourne based hosting provider called MK Zero (mk0.net).

* MK Zero is a little more annoying to trace, but ultimately leads to someone (or some group or pseudonym) called Jack Marlow (jackmarlow.com), also based in Melbourne.

They're clearly in violation of the Do Not Call register and possibly in violation of the Spam Act. The Jack Marlow site is a little more open about who and what they are, even a public Twitter address with which I can pick a fight ... excuse me, duty calls. ;)

I have had the same issue with that 08 number. I have sent an online complaint to OPTUS. I have told to disconnect my WIFI. They have 5 days to respond to my complaint, their response will be the deciding factor on whether I will disconnect my mobile and any other contract I have with them. I am acid that this is how OPTUS customers are treated.

Called me today but was not at my phone, called the number back to see who it was - was ntc voice solutions as other comments have said. Called their 1800 number and it said it had been disconnected. Also an optus customer: pretty pissed that optus would allow company like this to use their customer's numbers for telwmarketing!

Received a call from this number today and as soon as I answered they hung up. Tried calling it back and it went to a voice recording instructing me to phone a 1300 number.
Beware.
