I've been getting at least one call a day from this number for over a week now. I've never answered the phone to any of these nuisance calls. So I have no idea who these corksarkers are. For the moment, I'll keep ignoring the calls, but of course would like to have this harrassing crap end permanently, as we all want!

Calling on behalf of Telstra to make sure you are on the right plan etc. But beware you change your plans and it starts a new contract from that date

This is the number that is harassing me it is a telco telstra telemarketing number (08) 6228 4014 this number has been ringing my land line every day and some times twice a day for over a week now. I have rang it and yes it is the telco telstra telemarketing number. I also rang this number to make a complaint 1800 039 059 and sure enough I got the same recorded voice as I did on the 08 number and off I go through all the silly press this number and press that number rot......... I am going to spread this information everywhere and anywhere I can to get it stopped even going to make a complaint with the Telecommunications complaints. Something has to be done about this — feeling annoyed. And everytime I have gone to answer the number I get dial tone not answering it again... got the runa around with Telstra telling me to put my number onthe do not cal register .. it is there and has been there for a few years now........... one Telstra person reckoned they don't have telemarketing .. Telstra do have telemarketing and they don't know if they are Athur or Martha ......... it is harassment anyway

Scam

Same thing as everyone else, the calls started once a day... I answer the first few because I didn't recognize the number and I'm waiting on a call to confirm a surgery date so I don't like ignoring calls.

2 weeks later and they now call 3-4 times a day, even though I'm ignoring all the calls.

I have downloaded and installed an android anti virus that has a call blocking feature. My phone now only rings for a second or two before it cuts out. Not a perfect solution, but it's stopped me going "OMFG is that the hospital!?" every time they call.

I have the same problem, they call every day but no answer when I pickup. Telstra told me they found the number (08) 6228 4014 is linked to 'Nat Davis' on facebook.

Just had my 2nd call in 2 days from this number, my phone rings once, I don't even pick it up before it cuts out.

These clowns are not only oxygen thieves but also brainless morons! if they are trying to run a scam or a reputable business why do they hang up as soon as you answer? Are they on commission for every call answered and for every poor sap the pi$$ off in to the bargain? The annoying thing is that there are people out there who are easily disconcerted by this sort of thing and that's what should make this illegal in my book! The comments on this number harassment have been confusing some say separate operation to Telstra some say they are involving Telstra... what's the go?

These people call at dinnertime which I thought wasn't allowed. And keep calling. And it usually cuts out when picked up. Annoying

Yes, I am getting repeated calls from this number as well - ironically at the same time that I have made another TIO complaint against Telstra about another issue. I have no tolerance for telemarketers.

Colin, I have just called Telstra and had the number blocked. They CONFIRMED the number is their telemarketing company TSA, they said it may take 30 days for TSA to remove my number from the list so I opted to block the number. It was the Telstra Unwelcome Call Section that confirmed the number was their marketing co.

I have been able to find out who owns this number (08) 6228 4014. These calls are likely to originate from a company known as TSA - Telco Services Australia on behalf of Telstra. If you are a Telstra customer they can ignore the "Do Not Call" register. If you do not wish to receive telemarketing calls from Telstra, each of the Telstra telephone account holders should contact Telstra directly, preferably in writing, to "opt out" of receiving telemarketing calls for all current and future campaigns. You can also opt out by calling 1800 039 059 or by e-mailing privacy @ online.telstra.com.au.

I'm already on the "Do Not Call" register and it makes no difference. I have blocked the number on my telephone system but still log any blocked calls. I am seeing it blocked usually at least twice a day.

Following on from Kate's previous comments, this rogue number -- (08) 6228 4014 -- IS NOT TELSTRA and IT'S NEITHER A CONTRACTOR NOR AN AGENCY WORKING FOR TELSTRA either. It's a SCAMMER -- Telstra knows this and is trying to shut it down. Do not answer the scammer's call and do not be tempted to call them back. Talk to the scammer and you risk revealing personal details. Answer the phone at all and they'll learn your habits, e.g. when you're likely to be at home.

Instead, call Telstra's Unwelcome Call Group on 1800 805 996. Telstra can immediately block the number for you but you will end up with a changed dial-tone. If you are prepared to wait up to 28 days for the permanent block to take effect, Telstra can block the number whilst keeping the old dial-tone -- that process requires manual intervention, so takes longer to effect. I've opted for the 28-day process so, in the mean-time, I'll ignore the number.

Yes very frustrating, I have just lodged an online complaint with dnc.gov.au also called Telstra 13 2200 to be unsubscribed from marketing calls. Fingers crossed. The lady on the phone said she will email me with the details of our conversation and a link to contact her directly if I have any further problems.!!
