I received a call on my (Do Not Call registered/Silent) landline number. I have a strict policy that I will not answer unidentified or unknown numbers; if a cal is legit, they can leave me a message and I'll call back if I choose. I'm immediately suspicious of any calls to my landline, especially ones with interstate prefixes - I never give this number out, and only use it for personal conversations with friends/family, so I hung up on this caller without saying anything. I'd block this number immediately if they'd called my cell phone; however if they call landline again, I'll have Telstra put a block on the number. Incidentally, Telstra's customer support for subscribers who have issues are fantastic these days. I was getting a lot of calls from overseas based internet scammers/trolls, and Telstra blocked all incoming calls to my landline originating overseas. Haven't had one such call since - job done! I recommend other Telstra customers having similar issues to do the same.

Obviously a scam. Delayed then a lady with a strong accent said she was calling from “Charity” and wanted to do a survey. She would not say what charity she was calling from just kept repeating that she is calling from Charity.

Sick of getting calls from this number. Don't know what it is they want to achieve but I have caller ID and just dont pick up any more. Goes to answering machine and they hang up.
Someone please make it stop, surely the telcos know about this but thena gain they must be making money from these nuisances.

Asked to speak to .... (used a name I recognised) - I said not here so she hung up. Accented voice but no identifying on whose behalf she was calling. Has joined the list of Do Not Answer numbers beside my phone.

If this number is calling for a charity donation on't give them anything.
The charities themselves only receive a paltry amount for every dollar that is given.
Paltry like 5c, or 10c or similar.

People with too much time on their hands calling these numbers. No one answers.

Saved it to my CallerID and have changed the ringtone everytime they call. Hence, I get a pleasant ringtone to listen to.

Do Not Call register only stops 'Sales Pitches' marketers - political [arties and Charities are not blocked _ Telstra blocked a spam email and would likely do the same with phone calls. Many of these at private numbers of people contracted to make calls, lovely if we can get them cut off permanently.

Scam

Not a real service number, just a fake CLI so the call gets picked up. name and phone number gets picked up from random sources , such as postal sender info.

As this is a business when I answer with my business name, I end up with silence.

Three times in one week!! Extremely annoying. Have thought about getting on to the Do Not Call Register, but apparently that makes no difference! Cut it out!!!

the do not call rgister is a total waste of time. they are useless, and the mostly indian call centre people couldn't give a f333 about it

Deadsh*ts. They call and it hangs up straight away. Call number back to abuse them and message says number is not connected. Mofo scammers

Heads up people, it's definitely a scam to record your voice saying yes or no and then they use the recording of your voice. Hang up, don't answer yes or no at all.
