I did not answer. I always have my answering machine on, so I can screen my calls. I can always interrupt the message, if the caller is known to me and worth talking to. If the person does not leave a message I always check the number with this site. Nine times out of ten, it is a number like the above and not worth ringing back. If anyone is having problems with multiple scam calls, this is a good way to deal with them.

Call Telstra. Ask Telstra to put a tap on your phone calls. They’ve done this for me and say they can investigate and send the caller cease &desist letter and if they continue to call Telstra will disconnect the number no matter what telco that they’re with

Answered the phone, there was a delay, then the call was hung up. This is happening a lot at present with Australian, international and private caller numbers - even though we are on the Do Not Call register. How are they getting our number?

How long is Telstra or whoever is going to let these people continue the way they do. Come on you Telco's get your act together someone is setting up these numbers for these people. Surely you must be worried that people from within are as bad as the caller.

Folks DO NOT SAY YES OR NO. They record your answers and use them to get credit cards in your name. Get yourself a Caller ID and a answering machine, if they want you badly they will say something. The more times you answer their calls the more time they will keep ringing.

Telco's don't care, they are making money out of these companies, I have a business, these morons call me every day at least 10 times, I have had telstra block at least 10 different numbers, they still call you with a new number. This is a government problem should step in and force telco's to eliminate these numbers.

Casey, with Indian accent, said would I do a survey on charities. Will not stop calling. What's the point of the do not call register?

Didn't bother answering.
Just another nuisance call.
They mustn't have wanted us so they didn't leave a message.

People ask how these scammers get your number, here,s how, you fill in a raffle ticket at the mall or just win the Car' etc the details on the the ticket are then sols as a wholesale data. To check this misspell your name and watch all the stuff that comes through to your phone or mobile with that spelling.

When I said I didn't have time on day one, she was insistent and repeated my time problem and hung up. On day two, I reminded her that she had rung the day before and asked how she got my phone number and she then hung up.
We are on the "do not call" register and wonder how such calls could be made. Are organisations farming out their call centre operations to subcontractors using private numbers?
